Here comes the pain ... again!
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has offered Brock Lesnar another big money contract and hopes to have him sign on the dotted line before going forward with WrestleMania plans.
Lesnar was offered a new deal and they want him locked up for another year before planning Mania. The deal he's offered was believed to be similar terms of the first deal, which is a ton of money, as in several million dollars, for a few major PPV events and the television shows building up those events. He hasn't signed and probably won't sign any time soon because that's just Lesnar and he's going to negotiate it until the end. There are those internally who were talking about it and being given the impression he's in the plans past Mania.
This comes as no real surprise, considering how much he helped push the buyrate up for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view he wrestled John Cena on and the SummerSlam show where he went over on Triple H. The latter match is expected to be the catalyst for a rematch between the two at WrestleMania 29 and, as Meltzer points out in the Observer, it would make zero sense for Brock to lose if he does indeed decide to sign a new deal.
That said, what are the chances of "The Game" letting him go over again?
Then again, they let Cena beat Lesnar when it made absolutely no sense to do so and he still pulled a good number with Trips just a few months later. I suppose it's also possible he won't actually work with Triple H at 'Mania but that chances of that seem low.
Are you Cagesiders excited at the prospect of another year with Lesnar dropping in from time to time?
