There are now multiple reports making the rounds that WWE is planning on inducting some variation of the notorious backstage group, The Kliq, into the Hall of Fame this year. It likely wouldn't be marketed that way, however, instead promoted as the supergroup D-Generation X.
PWInsider has brought word that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman are all being considered. The folks at WrestleZone are now "exclusively" reporting that DX will get the nod and Triple H, Michaels, Waltman, Billy Gunn, and Road Dogg are the ones who will be recognized.
That would encompass two separate iterations of the stable, but it works well either way.
What's more, the reports have stated DX or The Kliq could be the headliners of the 2013 class over Mick Foley, the only announced member of the class so far.
This would be an interesting choice due to the infamous "Curtain Call" that occurred at Madison Square Garden, the site of the Hall of Fame ceremony on April 6 in New York. The short version of the story: Nash and Hall were leaving the World Wrestling Federation for World Championship Wrestling and decided to break kayfabe at a house show by hugging Michaels and Triple H. The dynamic was such that heels were hugging faces and vice versa, and it was a move that drastically altered the career arc of Triple H.
The grainy footage shot by a fan has been replayed countless times before and assuming this rumor comes to light, would likely be replayed again.
Cagesiders, what are your thoughts on this?
