Report: Randy Orton injury a separated shoulder, expected out only two weeks

According to a report, it turns out Randy Orton isn't suffering from a wrist injury but rather a separated shoulder. The same report states he should only be out of action for roughly two weeks.

Although it was initially reported that Randy Orton had suffered a wrist injury at the Tribute to the Troops taping this past Sunday night in Virginia, it appears now his actual ailment is a separated shoulder.

That's according to the Wrestling Observer, who note the injury is only expected to keep "The Viper" out for roughly two weeks.

That means he'll miss the TLC pay-per-view (PPV) tomorrow night (Dec. 16, 2012), obviously, but it gives him plenty of time to recover for the run up to the Royal Rumble on Jan. 27 next year.

Quite frankly, he could stand to miss even more time. Orton's babyface character has grown rather stale and he's been vocal about his desire to turn heel as quick as possible. There's been speculation that when he returns he'll do so with a fresh coat of paint as an antagonist but we'll just have to wait and see on that.

Happy to hear he's only looking at a couple weeks off?
