WrestleMania 29 ticket sales break records on first day available to public

WrestleMania 29 tickets went on sale to the general public on Sat., Nov. 10, 2012, and it didn't take long for records to be broken in the very first day.

Considering the strength of the show and the market it's taking place in, this should come as no real surprise.

Tickets for WrestleMania 29 went on sale to the general public this past Saturday night (Nov. 10, 2012) and sold out almost immediately. Literally, minutes after the sale opened, it was closed.

All told, WWE sold 52,029 tickets, which broke the record set in 2002 for first day sales, which was at 51,620, according to the Wrestling Observer. The company also broke the record for the biggest gate in pro wrestling history, as the show has topped $10 million already.

Tickets are still available for those hoping to go, though, so don't lose hope just yet. More will be released later.

These are pretty amazing numbers but with The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, John Cena, CM Punk, and Triple H all set to wrestle on the show, which will be held on April 7, 2013, at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, WWE fully expected this to be the biggest WrestleMania in history.

That's exactly what it's shaping up to be.

Who scooped up tickets? Anyone have more luck than Hulk Holland?
