If you were wondering how WWE would populate the Survivor Series match card with even moderately meaningful matches after both the Intercontinental champion and the tag team champions were booked in the traditional five-on-five elimination style match, here's your answer.
R-Truth will take on Antonio Cesaro for the U.S. title and Kaitlyn will challenge Eve for the Diva's championship.
The story for Truth is that he sort of lucked his way into this by simply saving his old buddy Kofi Kingston and kick-starting a feud with Cesaro. They've gone back and forth since and now they settle up in a decent time filler.
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn's quest to figure out who the hell attacked her at Night of Champions, costing her a title shot that Eve quickly snatched and cashed in on, has bore no fruit. In fact, WWE may or may not have dropped the angle altogether, or at least the plan to give it a payoff.
Perhaps that happens here.
Here's the updated line up after the Monday Night Raw go home show:
- CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Ryback
- Big Show vs. Sheamus
- Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth
- Eve vs. Kaitlyn
- Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler
