The Miz was given his immediate rematch for the Intercontinental championship just over a week after losing it to Kofi Kingston on Main Event at tonight's (Sun., Oct. 28, 2012) Hell in a Cell event in Atlanta, Georgia.
It felt like a blowoff type of match, seeing as Kingston had dominated the feud early with a big win on Monday Night Raw that split Miz's head open (literally) and the aforementioned title win the next night at Main Event.
It looked that way early in this match, too, with Kofi getting the early edge and holding it for a while. Then Miz turned it around by working a knee and taking control. They traded near falls, then traded finishers, all while Kofi sold the knee.
He still ended up hitting the Trouble in Paradise to get the three count. The Kingston mid-card title push continues, like it or not.
After the win, Kingston cut a weird promo in an interview with Matt Striker, saying he's thankful for Miz because he helped bring out "the wildcat" in him.
