Who is La Luchadora?

Alexa Bliss’ victory in the Women’s title match on SmackDown last night (Dec. 27) didn’t lack for shenanigans. Aside from Bliss’ latest “injury” - an elbow damaged by Becky Lynch’s Disarm-Her that looked horrible but was either a camera trick, some quirk of Alexa’s anatomy, or both - we also got a run in from La Luchadora.

Which is weird, because that was a masked gimmick Lynch used last week to get a match with the champ.

So, as SmackDown Creative intended, fans are now well into guessing who was in the Luchadora costume last night.

Before we start guessing, here’s a screen capture close-up:

The internet’s top suspects seem to be...

Mickie James: Reported to have signed a main roster contract following her return at TakeOver: Toronto, with word just coming down last week that she’s headed to the blue brand. Introducing her via a mystery angle, and as Alexa’s ally, rather than going with the big return pop and setting her opposite the current champ before possibly turning her later is a weird way to go, in my opinion, but, what do I know?

Tamina Snuka: The former Team B.A.D. enforcer is supposed to be close to returning from injury, and enforcer to the diminutive Bliss (bad ass that she is) makes sense. Rumors had her heading to Raw, but nothing official.

Deonna Purrazzo: The Jersey native appeared earlier this month, and was mocked and beaten up by the champ. She said at the time she hadn’t signed with WWE and is supposed to be debuting for Japan’s biggest women’s promotion, Stardom, next month, but...
