Edge set to join the Undertaker for SmackDown’s 900th anniversary show

WWE.com

WWE is loading up the Nov. 15 episode of SmackDown Live, which is not only the ‘go home’ show for Survivor Series, but also the brand’s 900th episode.

We learned last week Undertaker would be making his first WWE appearance since WrestleMania 32 when the blue brand comes our way from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania next Tuesday, and now Commissioner Shane McMahon’s revealed another legendary figure with close ties to the SmackDown brand...

There’s no confusion about “is this just for the live crowd?” either, as Edge will be hosting his talk show segment - probably as a way to further one of the big angles for the pay-per-view (PPV).

The Ultimate Opportunist has spoken about being hesitant to work on television, because his neck injury means any angle he takes part in can’t be resolved with physicality - and that’s the only way he knows how to be a part of pro wrestling. But a landmark edition of a the show he headlined for the first couple years of the initial brand-split era is too good an “opportunity” to pass up, apparently.

For WWE’s part, this is not only an anniversary and a push for a “Big 4” event, but it will be the first week in a while that SmackDown is free of major sports and election competition - so bringing in these big names and announcing them in advance is a good way to help pop a rating.

Excited for Edge, Taker and the whole gang to show up next Tuesday?
