WWE SmackDown returns to SyFy this coming Thursday night (Aug. 6, 2015) from Sacramento, California but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early:
- They opened the show with another tribute to Roddy Piper. Rest in peace.
- Roman Reigns was out first for a promo that was interrupted by Rusev to set up a match for later.
- Mark Henry & Prime Time Players def. The New Day with Henry scoring the pin on Kofi Kingston after hitting the World's Strongest Slam.
- B.A.D. def. Submission Sorority when Naomi pinned Charlotte. This started as a straight singles match between those two but ultimately became a tag team affair after interference.
- Stardust def. Zack Ryder in the match you would expect.
- Roman Reigns def. Rusev in what should be billed as a much bigger deal, right? Reigns has been the most successful against Rusev and, theoretically, this is a hop babyface and a top heel the company will be counting on in the coming years.
