WWE SmackDown results, live blog (April 23, 2015): Extreme Rules go home show

WWE SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (April 23, 2015) from Providence, Rhode Island with a taped show on the SyFy channel featuring the go home show to the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for this Sunday night in Chicago.

Because SmackDown is a taped show, you can simply go read the spoilers to know everything that happens (find them by clicking here). We will provide results with a live blog below anyway.

You can use this space to discuss all the events as they occur, however, and it's probably going to enhance your viewing experience. In fact, I know it is because we're a lot of fun around here.

Enjoy the show!

SMACKDOWN RESULTS

BaconStrips here. Let's do this?!?

_____________________________________________

Seth Rollins comes out to the ring for a promo. He addresses Randy Orton's RKO-a-thon on Raw and how the move is banned at Extreme Rules. He addresses Kane being the gatekeeper, saying that he doesn't anyone's help with beating Orton.

At this moment, Kane comes out. He reminds Rollins that he is still capable of chokeslamming him to Hell and either giving him the best win or biggest loss of his career. Rollins retorts by saying that Kane is gatekeeper because Triple H feels sorry for him.

The two go back and forth for a moment until Kane tells Rollins to lay down for him. Rollins laughs until he realizes that Kane is serious. Kane calls for a ref, and one comes out.

We have a match.

Kane vs Seth Rollins

Bell rings, and Rollins tells Kane that he won't lie down. Kane responds by saying that he is The Authority, and tells Rollins to lay down or "I will reach down your throat and rip your guts out." An intimidated Rollins lies down.

"...I'M JUST MESSIN' WITH YA MAN!"

The two recognize that they're on the same page, but Kane DOES make a match for Seth Rollins...against Dean Ambrose.

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins

Before Ambrose enters the ring, Luke Harper comes down to the ring. Ambrose enters and starts brawling. Soon enough, Harper and J&J Security start beating Ambrose until Roman Reigns comes down to make the save.

Tag team match, anyone?

Dolph Ziggler and Neville vs Sheamus and Bad News Barrett

This was a pretty good tag match. Neville took a majority of the offense, and Ziggler got a huge hot tag. Ziggs and Neville got the win following a Zig Zag and Red Arrow combo.

Replay of the Tough Enough announcement.

Obligatory Bray Wyatt promo, presumably aimed at Ryback

Natalya vs Naomi

And Naomi has her "Funk is on a Roll" theme.....why?

Short and sloppy match. It's pretty clear that Naomi is still trying to find her stride as a heel. She wins with (what else) the Rear View.

The Primetime Players make fun of The Brass Ring Club.

Ryback vs Rusev

Before the match, Lana cuts a promo about the Russian chain. In addition, Rusev vows to destroy John Cena and whatever else.

Good hoss fight that ends when Rusev escapes a Shellshock attempt, exits the ring ,and clocks Ryback with the chain, causing a DQ.

Ryback def Rusev by DQ

After the match, Rusev abuses Ryback with the chain, eventually locking in a chain assisted Accolade.

Backstage, Seth Rollins and J&J Security are looking for Luke Harper. Before they meet, Jamie Noble reveals that him and Harper are cousins..somehow. They run into Harper and try to talk to him, but he ignores them. Joey Mercury eventually gets his attention and tries some sign language, but Harper grabs him and says that he interrupted his concentration.

Kofi Kingston vs Cesaro

Before the match, Big E cuts a promo about the lack of positivity and clapping. Xavier Woods say that the Brass Ring Club has failed to embrace positivity. New Day also vows to cure any problem that you may have. Kofi talks about clapping.

Short match. Cesaro tried to swing Kofi, but Xavier Woods distracted him. Kidd pulls Xavier off the barricade, then gets suplexed by Big E for his troubles. After this, Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise on Cesaro for the win.

A WWE App interview with Big Show is aired. He says that Roman Reigns doesn't deserve anything that he's been given. Show vows to expose Reigns for what he is.

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins and Luke Harper

This was a great back-and-forth tag match. Both Ambrose and Reigns got some hot tags, and the action was pretty much non-stop from start to end. Reigns got the pin on Rollins following a big spear after Kane threw Rolling in the ring.
