WWE SmackDown returns to SyFy this coming Thursday night (Mar. 5, 2015) from Washington D.C. but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday night. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early:
- Dolph Ziggler started the show to announce that he would be in the Intercontinental title match at WrestleMania. He starts to call out Daniel Bryan but Bad News Barrett shows up to take his title. This leads to Luke Harper, Dean Ambrose, and R-Truth all showing up to try to take the title. Truth escapes with it.
- The Brass Ring Club def. Los Matadores thanks to Tyson Kidd being a cheater. Never change, Tyson.
- Ryback def. Kane super quick with the Meathook clothesline. Big Show was at ringside and Kane booked Ryback vs. Show, then distracted Ryback to set up the KO punch to give Show the win.
- Bray Wyatt promo on Undertaker. More of the same.
- The Bella twins were out for a promo. Nikki said she has been giving Divas a chance while AJ Lee has been gone and noen of them measure up. That brought out AJ and Paige.
- AJ def. Brie Bella after Paige stopped Nikki from interfering in the match.
- They interviewed Daniel Bryan, who said he's excited about the Intercontinental title match at WrestleMania and he's looking forward to seeing who wins it.
- The New Day def. Miz and Damien Mizdow with more tease of the latter two breaking up.
- Jack Swagger was interviewed and he will be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He also set up a match with Rusev because I'll be damned if he'll ever stop trying.
- Roman Reigns did a promo backstage saying that Paul Heyman is right that Brock Lesnar will hurt him but he'll survive it and win the title.
- Rusev def. Jack Swagger with the Accolade because you can always count on death, taxes, and Rusev beating Jack Swagger. Curtis Axel then cut a promo on the titantron saying he's coming for the US title.
- Dolph Ziggler & Dean Ambrose def. Luke Harper & Bad News Barrett with Ziggler pinning Harper after the Zig Zag. Then it was a mad dash to see who could end up with the Intercontinental title. Eventually, Daniel Bryan came out and R-Truth gave it to him. A "YES" chant celebration was halted only by Stardust running out to clobber Bryan and pose with the belt to close the show.
That's what you're looking at for Thursday, folks. Your thoughts?
