If this isn't a major snafu, it's a very interesting wrinkle to the Brock Lesnar, part-time champion discussion.
InTrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas is advertising Brock Lesnar as headlining the Smackdown taping on October 21st...which would be the go home show for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV).
Reports have had it that the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion would not be adding any additional dates to his schedule, even with the belt. Many sources had him working September's Night of Champions, and then not returning until Royal Rumble in 2015.
It may be a one-time deal, and the fact that it's a "blue brand" show rather than a Raw is curious. This will be third or fourth episode of Smackdown airing on SyFy after the planned move to Thursday nights, and could just be to pop a number and raise the show's profile in its new time slot. But, positioning him on the last show before the October PPV would lead us to believe that he'll be involved in Hell in a Cell in some capacity, and might mean that WWE has agreed to pay him whatever he wanted for more dates as champion.
While you think that over, here's the video:
What do you make of this, Cagesiders? Is the Beast Incarnate not only keeping the belt, but sticking around to work more shows than we're used to getting from Paul Heyman's most famous client?
