WWE Friday Night SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (July 11, 2014) from Ottawa, Canada, with a taped show on the SyFy channel featuring all the latest build to the upcoming Battleground pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for July 20 in Tampa, Florida.
Because SmackDown is a taped show, you can simply go read the spoilers to know everything that happens (find them by clicking here). We will provide results with a live blog below anyway.
You can use this space to discuss all the events as they occur, however, and it's probably going to enhance your viewing experience. In fact, I know it is because we're a lot of fun around here.
Enjoy the show!

SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG
- Rusev was out with Lana to start the show. Of note, they didn't have Lana out first, instead choosing to bring them out together with only Rusev's theme playing. Lana got time to run down the crowd, saying they're all lucky to be in the presence of Russian greatness. She turned her attention to Roman Reigns. "Tonight, Rusev will CRUSH!" Naturally, this brought Reigns out from the stands. Roman to Lana upon hearing a "RO-MAN REIGNS" chant: "I'm sure you'd love to stare at me all night while listening to them, but I'm a business man." He started talking to Rusev, saying he's got a hair trigger and he'll punch Rusev in the face. Lana told him to be careful what he wishes for. Reigns threatened Rusev again, saying he would put him on his "Putin kissing ass". Or something like that. Rusev acted SHOCKED at this and they were about to throw down after Charles Robinson ran down to start the match but Lana said no, that they wouldn't do this on Roman's terms. So they left.
- AJ Lee vs. Cameron was next. They announced AJ vs. Paige for the Divas title at Battleground before the match got underway. Cameron was wildly attacking AJ until Lee got fed up and returned the favor. Cameron tried to bail on the match but Naomi ran out and threw her back in the ring. AJ took advantage, hitting the Shining Wizard for the pin.
- Randy Orton was backstage for an interview with Renee Young. She asked what he thought of Kane saying "I'm starting to hate you" on Raw this week. Orton said he doesn't care what Kane says, just what he does. So as long as Kane helps him win the title at Battleground, all's well that ends well. Then he turned his attention to Chris Jericho, his opponent tonight, and said he's a legend who will be introduced to the "Legend Killer".
- Fandango vs. Adam Rose was next. It was hardly a match. Before they could really get going, Summer Rae ran down to attack Layla. When Fandango went out to break it up, he was counted out. When he got back in the ring, Rose met him there and shoved a blow pop in his face before giving him the Party Foul.
- Chris Jericho did an interview with Renee Young backstage. He called Bray Wyatt a big, black, dark spider manipulating everything in its web. He said he can't save Wyatt because he's looked in Bray's eyes and seen that he's too far gone. Then he turned his attention to Orton, who he respects and will defeat tonight. Once again, he repeated that he would squash Wyatt because he's a spider and that's what he does to spiders.
Apologies, Cagesiders, but this will have to be an open thread from here. We'll have complete reactions early tomorrow morning as usual.
