WWE SmackDown returns to SyFy this coming Friday night (May 16, 2014) from Greensboro, North Carolina, but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday night. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early:
- John Cena came out and accepted Bray Wyatt's challenge for the Last Man Standing match at Payback, making it official. Before all that, he challenged The Wyatt Family to a match tonight and that was accepted.
- The Usos def. Cody Rhodes & Goldust clean and Cody wasn't happy about it afterward, once again teasing a break up with his brother.
- El Torito def. Heath Slater in a comedy match.
- Nikki Bella def. Natalya with a roll up with Eva Marie serving as special guest referee. They did a post-match angle with Natalya getting upset at Eva.
- Dolph Ziggler did a promo on Batista and they referenced the tweet he sent out last night about Batista being the weakest member of Evolution. That led to a match between the two, won by Ziggler via disqualification after a low blow. Batista beat him down after the match.
- Sheamus def. Titus O'Neil in a squash.
- Santino Marella def. Damien Sandow with the Cobra in a nothing match with Sandow still pushing his new gimmick that people are scared of what he has to say.
- Cesaro def. R-Truth with the Neutralizer in a nothing match.
- John Cena def. Erick Rowan in the main event. The Usos were out to back up Cena against The Wyatt Family. Your basic TV match.
That's the show, folks. Your thoughts?
