WWE SmackDown returns to SyFy this coming Friday night (Oct. 17, 2014) from Birmingham, Alabama but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday night. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early:
- A Seth Rollins promo opened the show and he called Dean Ambrose crazy, saying he should be in a straitjacket instead of Hell in a Cell. Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler appeared and cut a short promo before drop kicking Rollins. That led to a match.
- Rollins def. Ziggler in a non-title match with the Curb Stomp. How many losses in a row now for the Intercontinental champion?
- AJ Lee def. Layla with Paige and Alicia Fox on commentary. They both attacked after the match and while AJ handled Fox, she couldn't do the same to Paige.
- Sheamus & The Usos def. The Miz & Gold & Stardust with Sheamus getting the Brogue Kick on Goldust for the pin.
- Big Show cut a promo saying he needs to pin Rusev at Hell in a Cell but he needs to do it on his own. So he called Mark Henry out and had him promise not to get involved in the match. Rusev and Lana appeared on the stage and they went back-and-forth.
- Nikki Bella def. Naomi with the Rack Attack in a short match.
- Renee Young interviewed Dean Ambrose who had a great line that Rollins can't prepare for him at Hell in a Cell because you can't prepare for the unknown and even he doesn't know what he'll do.
- The main event was Dean Ambrose vs. Kane, won by Ambrose by disqualification after Rollins interfered. They attempted a post-match beat down angle but Ambrose grabbed the chair they had set up to Curb Stomp him on and chair shotted Kane while Rollins ran away.
That's the show, folks. Your thoughts?
