WWE SmackDown taping preview: The Rock returns to the show named after his silliness

The Rock continues his incredibly busy schedule with yet another return later this evening (Jan. 8, 2013) at the SmackDown tapings at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, for the show that will air this coming Friday night on SyFy. He's back to the show named after one of his silly catchphrases and it's in his hometown, so expect the long masturbatory promo segment we didn't get on Monday Night Raw last night in Tampa.

It has been 10 years since he's been on the show, after all.

What will be interesting is whether or not WWE Champion CM Punk shows up to crash the party. The two only have a couple weeks to work their program before the Royal Rumble match, so time is of the essence.

Why not have another epic encounter on the blue brand? If they can come close to what they did on Raw, pay-per-view buys for the Rumble will only increase more and more as they go.

Also scheduled for tonight's tapings is a match between Big Show and Alberto Del Rio. This follows Show knocking out Ricardo Rodriguez and sets up a program between the two. The Wrestling Observer has reported Show vs. Del Rio for the world heavyweight championship is planned for the undercard at Royal Rumble.

We'll see if that's the case tonight.
