WWE SmackDown returns to SyFy this coming Friday night (Dec. 14, 2012) from Bridgeport but the show was taped, as usual, on Tuesday night. That means full spoilers are readily available if you're the impatient type who doesn't want to wait a couple days for the payoff.
Unwrap that present early (via Wrestling Observer):
-- Big Show def. R-Truth with the WMD while both Sheamus and Antonio Cesaro were looking on at the ringside commentary desk. Naturally, Sheamus nearly attacked Show but ended up getting it from Cesaro from behind, leading to his touching Show.
-- Show sought out Booker T for this, claiming the match this weekend should no longer take place because Sheamus violated the agreement they had. Booker disagree, of course.
-- The Rhodes Scholars def. The Usos.
-- Another segment with Show appealing to Booker T to get the match called off, only this time he brought his lawyer with him. That's right, folks, he enlisted the services of one David Otunga, who threatened to take this to the Board of Directors if Booker didn't do the right thing. Sheamus made his presence felt by bringing a chair out and threatening Show with it. Because hey, if the match is off, he can go about beating the ever-loving shit out of the big man. Show was sufficiently intimidated enough to back off, so what does Sheamus do? He lays out Otunga with the Brogue Kick. Yeah, knock out the guy who was just trying to argue his client's case. Good stuff, WWE babyface.
-- The Shield beat down Randy Orton backstage. This was the previously mentioned angle shot to write Orton off television while he deals with an apparent wrist injury.
-- Kaitlyn def. Aksana.
-- The Miz interviews Team Hell No, presumably because WWE wants to ruin everyone good they have going for them by putting them in awful segments with Miz. First CM Punk and Paul Heyman, then the Rhodes Scholars, now Team Hell No. The Shield interrupted with another video, then came to the ring but Ryback cleared them out.
-- Great Khali, Hornswoggle, Tyson Kidd, and Justin Gabriel def. Primo, Epico, and the Prime Time Players.
-- Kofi Kingston def. Alberto Del Rio. Wade Barrett attempted to get after Kofi but Kingston got the upper hand on him with the Trouble in Paradise.
-- Antonio Cesaro def. Sheamus via count out thanks to Show bringing out William Regal, who was all beat up. Show hit him with a chair and Sheamus went up to make the save. It was a trick to try to get Sheamus to attack him but it never happened.
And that's how we get to TLC, ladies and sirs. Thoughts?
