Sheamus! Show! Ziggler! Almost There! World Heavyweight Championship!
With only two days away until Hell in a Cell, tonight is the last opportunity for Sheamus and The Big Show to put their match over; this is the final chance both men have to sell the Pay-Per-View (PPV) and now is the ultimate moment for these two superstars to prove their worth...
What I'm trying to say is, "It's time to get excited, folks!" This feud is -- hopefully -- about to reach its conclusion.
There are only so many times that hearing how awesome Sheamus' Brogue Kick is or how deadly Show's KO Punch can be before it's merely regurgitating the same material. Yes, I get it. Getting kicked in the face with an Irishman's size 16 boot would hurt, wouldn't it? And maybe getting punched in the dome piece with a slimy pound of ham wouldn't be all that fun, eh?
Finishing moves are supposed to be devastating, I think that is kind of the point.
Does anyone remember why this feud started, anyway? Or anything about this whole angle? I think Show won a number one contenders match, then something about a political debate, and maybe a video game. It doesn't really matter, I guess. The point is that Sheamus and Show will have one final confrontation tonight, and then we are onto new and better things.
Perhaps "Showoff-y" things?
Dolph Ziggler has been teasing the Money in the Bank cash in almost every week now. I've said repeatedly that it is only a matter of time, and that it will happen sooner than later. Hell in a Cell could provide the perfect opportunity with an interesting bit of symmetry. Last year at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, Daniel Bryan cashed in after Big Show had won the World Heavyweight Championship from Mark Henry. Bryan was a face at the time, but would slowly turn heel after winning the title.
Now the roles could very well be revered. A face champion with a heel challenger and what very may well be the start of a much anticipated face turn for Ziggler. I could be reading way too much into this, but I think it's possible. Vickie Guerrero is the new General Manager (or whatever her title is) of Monday Night Raw. If WWE decides this is the chance to separate the two, nothing would stop Ziggler from using the title to become a good guy. He has a lot of talent, and it is a lot easier to climb the ranks as a face (see: Ryback, The).
It wouldn't hurt to try, no?
But that is in the future, and this is the present. Now we have Sheamus and The Big Show... two giants in the ring... two destructive finishers... two men who just love to fight...
But only one Championship between them.
Everything Else! Bullet Points!
- Hell No will be facing Rhodes Scholars at Hell in a Cell, as was predicted by everyone. There's not much to say about this other than everyone involved here is awesome at what they do. This is honestly one of the few things WWE has going for it. I really hope it doesn't get ruined.
- Apparently Randy Ortron is back, and he's set his sights on Alberto Del Rio. Raise your hand if you actually care about this in any way? No one? I thought so.
- Poor Eve Torres. All she wants to do is be the best damned assistant to the SmackDown General Manager she can be, yet everyone tries to frame her for such silly nonsense. Who cares if she has a wig in her bag, or has super secret stuff on her iPad. I have got super secret stuff on my iPad. That doesn't mean Nolan can come on over and sneak a peak whenever he wants to just because he's jealous of how awesome I am.
Hopefully, this has prepared you for the night's festivities. Leave a comment about what you are looking forward to, and please join Nolan, myself, and the entire CSS Friday Night Gang in the live blog right here tonight.
