WWE 'SmackDown' results and live blog for Oct. 12: Randy Orton returns

Complete results and a running live blog for tonight's (Oct. 12, 2012) episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, featuring the return of Randy Orton to get after Alberto Del Rio.

WWE SmackDown comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Oct. 12, 2012) from San Jose with a taped show on SyFy featuring the return of Randy Orton.

Because everyone is so hot to see him continue his feud with Alberto Del Rio.

Speaking of "The Mexican Aristocrat," he'll be in the main event against Daniel Bryan. Expect shenanigans but don't count on them. Wait, was that a spoiler?

WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 12

Nolan in.

Broadcast is live.

SmackDown GM Booker T is here.

Booker prefaces Sheamus vs. The Big Show. He says there is a buzz going around in the back about which move is more deadly: Brogue Kick or the K.O. Punch? They are going to find out with a little contest.

Enter Big Show.

They have an arcade punching machine set up to test the power of both men and their respective finishers.

Enter Sheamus.

Booker wants the two to stay calm and says this contest is all about them. Booker says that they need to let out all of their frustration on the speed bag.

Booker invites Show to go first, but Show says that he doesn't want to play games. He says that he has knocked out every superstar in the WWE out and if they need to know about his punch's power, ask all of them.

Sheamus says he is game. He Brogue Kicks the machine, landing a 1,322 pound per square inch force.

Amazing. Sheamus is deadly.

Big Show says that if he punches the machine, it will blow up or something and it will make him look funny. Sheamus taunts Show, encouraging him to take a swing. He says that it can't be more embarrassing than his last title reign of 45 seconds. He continues to poke at the bear.

Show punches the machine and lands a 1,809 pound per square inch force.

The two stare down and Show says he'll see Sheamus at the pay-per-view, "fella." Sheamus says that the punch was impressive, but he was hitting a stationary machine.

Tensai comes out and obliterates Sheamus from behind. Booker wants to separate the two.

Tensai vs. Sheamus

The two meet on the outside and slug it out. Sheamus getting the better of it, but Tensai regains control and tries to send Sheamus into the ring post. Sheamus reverses and sends Tensai into it instead.

The action goes back inside.

Ref wants the two separated before he starts the match.

Match starts and Sheamus going after the cornered Tensai. Unloading clubbing blows. Tensai sent into the corner, but Tensai reverses and puts Sheamus down with an elbow. Tensai sends Sheamus off the ropes, but Sheamus comes in with a shoulder block on the knee. Nearfall.

Sheamus puts Tensai in the corner and ramming the shoulder into the torso. He backs off, but Tensai comes forward with a decapitating clothesline that drops Sheamus. Tensai attempting a suplex, but Sheamus blocks and gets one of his own.

Both men down and the ref starts the count.

Tensai attempts to try a splash, but Sheamus gets out with his axehandles. Running knee lift lands. Huge bodyslam by Sheamus only gets a nearfall.

Sheamus wants something else, but Tensai elbows out. Sheamus off the ropes, but Tensai clotheslines him. Misses a senton splash and Sheamus back in control. White Noise lands.

Brogue time!

Brogue Kick lands and downs Tensai. He hooks the leg and gets the pinfall. Sheamus is your winner.

Footage is shown of Alberto Del Rio putting the boots to Randy Orton.

Del Rio and Ricardo backstage. Ricardo is worried about Orton showing up tonight, but ADR says he is not worried. He challenges Ricardo to go and find him. Ricardo hesitates, but ADR turns it into an order.

Del Rio is not a happy man.

Ricardo shuffling around backstage, asking crew if they have seen Randy.

A hissing sound and Ricardo is afraid to look around the corner. He turns right into a Cobra from Santino Marella.

Santino asks if he is afraid of snakes, to which Ricardo applies to the negative. Santino says the second most deadly snake is the viper.

Ricardo heads off in fear.

Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal vs. Santino Marella and Zack Ryder

Slater has something to say to the fans. The group has formed a band and start playing air guitar in the ring.

Match starts with Ryder and Mahal.

Ryder with a wristlock and into a side headlock. Rope running and a facebuster for Ryder. Dropkick gets Ryder a nearfall.

Santino tags in. Goes up top and clubs the arm of Mahal. Mahal turns the tables, but he ends up on the wrong end of a hip toss. Diving headbutt misses.

Slater brought in. Mahal with a snapemare. Slater gets a running clothesline to Santino for a nearfall. Slater stomping Santino into the ground. Whips Santino into his corner and stomps them.

Mahal in and they are both stomping. Slater tags back in. Nearfall by Slater. Slater attempts a strike, but Santino rolls under. He misses the hot tag to Ryder and Slater isolates him with a front headlock. Slater turns it into a sleeper, but Santino with an arm drag. Santino with a jawbreaker.

He gets the tag to Ryder. Ryder in control. Running forearms and hits a missile dropkick on Slater. Slater cornered and gets a jumping forearm.

Broski Boot lands. Nearfall for Ryder. Mahal breaks the pin and Santino runs to attack him. Mahal tosses him out. Ryder sends Mahal out and McIntyre tries to get involved, but he is sent to the floor.

Slater with his facebuster and hooks the leg. Pinfall and victory to the group now known as The Band.

Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler gets the back and starts clubbing Kane. Looking for the single leg, but Kane tries to powerbomb him. Ziggler out and runs the ropes, but eats an uppercut from Kane.

Kane stalking Ziggler, but Ziggler ducks under. Mounts Kane in the corner, but Ziggler is shoved down. Ziggler running the ropes and wants a crossbody, but Kane catches him. Ziggler fights out and tries to outspeed Kane. Back bodydrop to the outside by Kane, but Ziggler skins the cat. Kane comes and hits a big boot that sends Ziggler out.

Ziggler down and out on the outside as we go to break.

Back and Kane working Ziggler in the corner. Kane whips him into the corner, but Ziggler floats over. Ziggler tries a jumping move, but Kane deposits him on the apron. Ziggler gets a hangman's neckbreaker.

Ziggler trying to take advantage and goes up top. Kane catches him in a Chokeslam, but Ziggler fights out. He doubles Kane over and lands a Fame Asser. Ziggler gets a nearfall.

Kane trying to stand, but Ziggler trying to keep the giant down. Ziggler with a right hand, but Kane with an uppercut. And another. Boot to the gut and another uppercut by Kane. Kane sends Ziggler into the ropes for a bodydrop, but Ziggler follows with a swinging neckbreaker. Only gets one on a nearfall.

Ziggler stepping and stomping on Kane. Elbow drops galore by Ziggler. He goes for the jumping one and gets a nearfall. Ziggler working Kane in the corner. He keeps the giant down and now locks in a front headlock. Kane rams him into the corner. Arm drag by Kane.

Ziggler stifles Kane's comeback with a dropkick. Ziggler tries a splash in the corner, but eats a lot of turnbuckle. Kane with a big clothesline for a nearfall. More power offense only gets Kane a nearfall. Kane whipping Ziggler from corner to corner and following with the clotheslines, then landing the sidewalk slam for a nearfall.

Kane up to his feet and going up top. Ziggler crotches Kane and starts punching Kane. Headbutts from Ziggler as he meets Kane up top. Kane hits him with one headbutt that sends him down.

Vickie distracting the ref on the ropes and Ziggler grabs the MITB briefcase. Kane comes right down into the briefcase, but the ref caught it.

Kane wins by DQ. Ziggler charges Kane with the briefcase, but eats an uppercut.

Bryan comes in and runs Ziggler off. Team Hell No argue in the ring, with Bryan saying that he saved him.
Matt Striker comes in and asks if this bickering will cost the teams the titles at Hell in a Cell. Striker tells Bryan that he make be the weak link in this team.

And Bryan with the "NO!" Lock on Striker.

Kane picks Bryan up by his beard and helps Striker up. Only to set up a chokeslam!

Bryan tries to stop the Chokeslam and starts screaming "NO!" Kane says "YES!" and Striker goes for a ride.

Ricardo looking around for Orton still.

A closed door sounds like Orton talking behind it.

Hornswaggle is there playing with a Randy Orton doll. Ricardo takes it and slams it against the wall, before kicking the toy away and storming off.

Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show

Miz joins JBL and Josh Mathews at ringside.

Kofi with a leg kick, but Show working Kofi in the corner. Kofi escapes and goes off the ropes, but eats a huge shoulder block.

Kofi to the outside and Show picks him up by his hair. Kofi counters with a hangman's neckbreaker. Kofi with a springboard crossbody, but Show just stands tall and sends Kofi to the ground.

Show with a chop to the chest of Kofi. He plays to the crowd as Kofi stands in the corner. Show just standing and charges, but Kofi raises a boot. Kofi with a pendulum kick in the corner. He comes off the top with a missile dropkick that puts Show down.

Boom Drop lands. Trouble in Paradise doesn't, as Show blocks him with his forearms.

Big Show with a K.O. Punch that drops Kingston. Pinfall and victory to Big Show.

Miz gets in the ring to taunt Kofi. He says Kofi belongs with his back flattened on the mat. Miz says that's the story of Kofi's life, with him always coming up short. Miz says that he will be leaving with his head held high and his IC belt over his shoulder.

Just like Wednesday on WWE Main Event.

Daniel Bryan in the locker room of Alberto Del Rio, which startles the Mexican aristocrat.

He says he was expecting a snake, not a goat. Bryan points out that he is the tag team champions. ADR says that the only reason Bryan has that title is because of Kane. Bryan says the only reason ADR is talking to him is because Orton hasn't found him yet.

Bryan and ADR have a match tonight.

Bryan also wants to point out that he is indeed the tag team champions before he leaves.

Layla and Kaitlyn with Teddy and Booker.

Apparently, Aksana found a blonde wig in Eve's bag.

Eve comes in and says that she looked through Teddy's bag and found a blonde wig. This leads to bickering between the Divas.

Booker tells Layla and Kaitlyn that they should talk over coffee.

Teddy says that he doesn't know what Eve is doing this for.

Eve says Teddy looks ridiculous in that wig.

Sin Cara vs. Damien Sandow

Cody Rhodes accompanied our martyr.

Sandow shoves Cara to the ground. He pushes him into the corner and tells him that today isn't his day.

Cara opens up with leg kicks. He gets his springboard arm drag that sends Sandow to the outside.

Sandow gets back in and works Sin Cara in the corner. Takes him to the middle of the ring and gets a Russian leg sweep. Elbow of Disdain gets Sandow a nearfall.

Sandow sends Sin Cara off the ropes, but Cara tilt-a-whirls and gets a jawbreaker. Springboard elbow by Sin Cara. Headscissors takeover puts Sandow on the ropes. Sin Cara with a missile dropkick that puts Sandow on the floor.

Sin Cara goes up top and lands a crossbody on Rhodes.

Sandow goes inside and Cara to the apron. Pendulum kick by Sin Cara. Rhodes trips him off the apron and brings him to the floor. Rhodes about to hit a running kick to Cara, but the ref goes outside and ejects Rhodes.

Sin Cara with a senton and hits a headscissors into a hurricanrana for a rollup over the ref as Sandow argues with him.

Sandow upset inside the ring as Cara pulls off the upset on one half of Rhodes Scholars.

Bryan backstage. He sees Kane and tells him to not even think about rescuing him if he is in trouble.
Kane tells him not to worry, as he won't.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan

Lockup and Del Rio puts Bryan in the corner. Ref wants a clean break, but Del Rio with a kick to the gut. Del Rio wants to ground Bryan, but Bryan fights away with strikes. Uppercuts from Bryan. Snapmare and kick to the back of Del Rio earns him a nearfall.

Del Rio with a sidekick and working Bryan in the corner.

JBL points out that Bryan is trained by Randy Couture and Del Rio wrestled Randy Couture many times, for you MMA fans here at Cageside.

Del Rio with a suplex and rolls over for a nearfall. Del Rio puts Bryan in the corner. He charges, but eats the corner. Bryan with his kicks. Stomp by Bryan. He sets up a surfboard submission, but Del Rio isn't having it. He instead jumps and stomps the knees of ADR into the mat for a nearfall.

Bryan punching and Del Rio tries to counter, but Bryan with his kicks. Del Rio whips ADR into the corner, but Bryan with a backflip and running the ropes leads to a clothesline. Bryan gets up and unleashing kicks to the chest of ADR. Running knee puts ADR down and he rolls to the corner.

Running dropkick ends up missing.

ADR's enzuigiri to Bryan's arm hits. He chokes Bryan on the bottom rope. Bryan on the apron and ADR charges, but he goes through the ropes. He hangs on to the top rope, but Bryan unleashes a kick to the chest. Bryan looking for a running knee, but ADR ducks him and tosses him into the barricade.

Both men down on the floor as we go to break.

Back from break and Bryan drops ADR with a body shot. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker gets ADR a nearfall. Kick to the back of Bryan. Del Rio working an armlock on Bryan. Bryan with punches to the body and goes off the ropes. He misses a headkick, but ADR gets him almost in the Cross Armbreaker.

Bryan reverses to get the "NO!" Lock. Rodriguez attempts to distract the ref. ADR crawling towards the ropes. He inches his way and makes it with his fingertips.

Del Rio rolls to the apron and Bryan attempts to come at him. Del Rio gets the Cross Armbreaker over the ropes, breaking at five. Bryan is sent shoulder-first into the ring post.

Del Rio gets the Cross Armbreaker. Bryan taps.

Alberto Del Rio takes home the victory.

Del Rio says he heard about Orton, but he tells the crowd that social media is messing with them. He knows Orton wouldn't show up tonight and he shows the crowd why.

Roll footage of ADR taking out Orton. Also shows Orton getting beaten by Show at Main Event.

ADR says that he is the new "Apex Predator." He says Orton is a garden snake with no "cajones." He tells Orton he made the right decision to hide in the shadows like a little girl. ADR says if Orton was here, he'd give him a piece of his own medicine.

He hits the Orton pose.

Del Rio does the Viper coiling pose.

And lands right in front of Orton.

Orton proceeds to beat Del Rio down on the outside. Slammed into the announce table and the ring post. He then sends Del Rio into the steel steps. Announce table is cleared off. ADR is placed upon it.

Ricardo comes and tries to put a sleeper in on Orton and ADR scurries away, leaving Ricardo down and out on the announce table. Orton slams his head into the table.

Orton with the RKO on the table that apparently wasn't gimmicked to break.

Orton gets in the ring and looks triumphant as ADR looks pissed at the top of the ramp.

The two stare down as we go to black.
