The “rumor” of Undertaker appearing on Raw became a plot point in the story of Mick Foley, Raw General Manager. Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, presumably still focused on winning the ratings war with SmackDown, told Foley his upcoming performance review hinged on his ability to produce Taker. Despite Mick not having spoken to his old foe, he guaranteed Steph he would show up.
So he did what any WWE Superstar would do... headed to the ring to summon the Dead Man.
The lights did dim, but it was only for McMahon’s music to hit (Steph loves messing with her employees, and giving public performance reviews). She was all set to let Mick go, when the lights went out again and the familiar GONG struck.
The Phenom made his way to the ring and made a couple big declarations:
- He’s entering the Royal Rumble, which he intends to win so he can go on and main event WrestleMania.
- He goes where he wants, when he wants and no one controls him.

So, forget about Undertaker being a SmackDown Superstar. But things like the dream match with John Cena... and the showdown with Braun Strowman that we didn’t want last year at this time but desperately want now, are definitely on the table.
Excited?
