WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 27

BaconStrips here. Let's do this...

WWE Signature and a recap of Undertaker's return to Raw and subsequent war with Brock Lesnar.

The birthday boy, Triple H, comes out to the ring with Stephanie McMahon and Seth Rollins

Trips welcomes us to Raw and promises a huge night of firsts.

First is an announcement: SummerSlam will be four hours long (and a long four hours for your correspondent). Steph hypes the main event: Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar.

Trips announces some stuff for tonight: Big Show vs Dean Ambrose, Sasha Banks vs Paige, Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton, Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte.

Rollins interrupts and brags about some of his firsts (being the first to cash in at WrestleMania and walking out as WWE Champion against Lesnar). Rollins tells everyone to stand and admit that he's one of the greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champions of all time. The crowd doesn't much like this.

Right on cue, John Cena comes out.

Cena says that he means to interrupt the arrogant jackass known as Seth Rollins. Cena knocks Rollins' claim as the best champion ever, and calls him a joke like he did last week. This time, Cena's gonna do something about it.

Cena turns his focus toward Trips and Steph and has a FIRST TIME EVAH idea: Seth Rollins vs John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins tells Cena to shut the hell up before putting over the WWE WHC.

After more Rollins complaining, Steph asks the audience for their opinion about this match, and they go bananas.

And for the FIRST TIME EVAH....Steph says "Nooooooooooooooooooooo." Instead, Cena has to earn his title shot.

Trips goes one step farther and says that no one wants to see the championship defended on Raw. Therefore, we're getting Seth Rollins vs John Cena for the United States Championship because that's what's best for business.

The Stone Cold Podcast returns next Monday, and the special guest will be Paige

Dean Ambrose vs Big Show

This was a match that happened. The main story here was the fact that Ambrose kept fighting despite taking two chokeslams, a superkick, and a spear on the outside. Ambrose kept on fighting up to the moment when he ate a KO Punch for dessert. Ambrose is counted out right as he is about to get back into the ring.

Big Show def Dean Ambrose by count-out

After the match, Ambrose tries to recover as Show stalks him. Eventually Show tries to spear Ambrose through the timekeeper's barricade, but Ambrose sidesteps to avoid certain death as Show barrels into the timekeeper's area

Fandango vs Neville

Fairly short match that saw Neville get the win with a Red Arrow. It should be noted that Fandango (of all people) busted out a Gory Special.

Neville def Fandango

After the match, Stardust appears on the Titantron and cuts a promo against heroes. Stardust promises to rescue us from the heroes in the world, and Neville can't do anything about it

Backstage, Paige pumps her troops (Charlotte and Becky Lynch) about her Divas Revolution when Team BAD interrupts. Sasha tells us that Steph was REALLY behind the revolution, and now Team BAD is on the forefront. Naomi says stuff, and Paige tells her that they're gonna dominate. Her and Sasha get into a debate until Becky interrupts to tell Sasha to shut up

________________________________________

Paige vs Sasha Banks

This was a pretty long and good match that did have some clunky spots. Both women traded control and submission holds, and this continued after the remaining members of Team BAD and the Powerpuff Girls were ejected. Sasha eventually got the win with the Bank Statement.

Renee Young interviews Seth Rollins. Rollins touts his "accomplishments" before ripping on John Cena's open challenges and how the next generation has to go through him. Rollins vows to stop that.

The Terminator is announced as the pre-order bonus for WWE 2K16...I don't get it either

Rusev and Summer Rae are in the ring.

Rusev says that he's smitten with Summer Rae, and vows to teach us American men how to treat a woman.

And conveniently, a puppy from PetsOvernight.com is brought into the ring. Summer is in love, and Rusev names it "Dog Ziggler." Rusev then presents Summer a headless fish and names it Lana.

More stuff, and Lana tells Rusev to shut up before ripping him for his recent actions. He hasn't succeeded because everyone can see right through Rusev's facade. A juvenile exchange until Lana shoves Summer's face into the fish, and then slaps Rusev for good measure.

That sure happened. Summer wails as Rusev yells stuff and throws the fish.

Recap of the brawl between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. It is announced that Brock Lesnar will be returning to Raw next week.

Lucha Dragons vs Los Matadores

The Primetime Players are on commentary for this.

This was a decent match that went on a little longer than it should have. Sin Cara played the face-in-peril until he tagged in a hot Kalisto, who cleaned house. This continued until The New Day came out with a "Real Mega Dad of the Year" sign to taunt Titus O'Neil. As this went on, Kalisto got a pin with a hurricarana.

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper come out

Wyatt isn't a betting man, but he bets that we all have a family. He asks if we love and care for them and other thing.

Bad news: Mommy and daddy have lied to us. Instead, the truth is sad and shocking, and we only have to go outside to see the truth. We should fear those that protect us. The sooner we can realize, the sooner we can be set free.

Wyatt starts talking about his pet that was set free. However, his pet came back as he expected. However, the pet had a scar, and that changed him.

He learned that the world has sharper teeth than he did.

Wyatt turns his attention to Harper and tells him to tell his story.

Harper says that there was a time when he didn't understand why he existed. This all changed when The Family found him, and he is this way because of us. Bray Wyatt saved Luke Harper, and Harper gives his life to Wyatt.

Wyatt talks a bit more about Harper before turning his attention toward Roman Reigns. After some talk about Reigns misleading Dean Ambrose, Wyatt says that he will seal Roman's fate.

We're here.

Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella

This was a pretty solid tag match that saw Charlotte get a good amount of punishment until she got a pretty sudden hot tag to Becky Lynch. Although Nikki tried to stop this, she ate a spear from Charlotte. Alicia tried to roll-up Becky, but Becky reversed into the Disarmer for the win.

Kevin Owens vs Randy Orton

Sheamus is on commentary for this.

This was a pretty good match that ended when (shocker) Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick to Orton as they were on the outside.

Randy Orton def Kevin Owens by DQ

After the match, Sheamus throws Orton in the ring and starts beating him down when Cesaro comes running down. He takes Sheamus down and goes right to work on Owens. Eventually, Owens gets back inside and Cesaro walks into a pop-up powerbomb after getting distracted by Sheamus.

Renee Young interviews John Cena about his upcoming title match with Seth Rollins. Cena says that he's done everything he can to make the US Title a symbol of excellence, and tonight's match proves it as he goes against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Two things will happen: Rollins will prove himself, or Cena beats Rollins in the middle of the ring.

John Cena vs Seth Rollins (United States Championship)

This was a pretty solid match that saw some good exchanges between both men, including a cool superplex transitioned into a sort-of modified falcon arrow from Rollins. There was also a moment where Cena legitimately got his nose broken due to a knee from Rollins. The end comes after Cena dodges a Phoenix Splash from Rollins. The STF is locked in, and Rollins taps.
