WWE may be on the road to WrestleMania 31 but that does not mean fans are tuning in to watch the weekly programs designed to build interest for the biggest pay-per-view (PPV) of the year. They're actually calling it the biggest event of all time but if viewership is any indication that couldn't be any further from the truth.
Indeed, last night's episode of Monday Night Raw from Newark drew just 3.82 million viewers for all three hours, down big from last week's 4.12 million.
Here's the hourly breakdown, with a staggeringly low first hour:
Hour one: 3.54 million
Hour two: 4.06 million
Hour three: 3.86 million
These are numbers Raw typically posts during football season when it's up against the stiff competition provided by Monday Night Football on ESPN. That fact that this is happening without that competition and in the lead up to the biggest show of the year is troubling to say the least.
Brock Lesnar is scheduled back next week. Let's see if WWE bothers to promote as much ahead of time.
