WWE used the hook of a major announcement from Triple H that would "shake us to our core" to get viewers to tune in to last night's episode of Monday Night Raw. Without saying it, the implication was clear: Roman Reigns' Royal Rumble win was being called into question and Daniel Bryan may once again find his way back into the main event of WrestleMania.
That's more or less what we got.
Still, viewers were down from last week's Rumble fallout show, averaging 4.29 million viewers compared to 4.42 million the week before. The hourly breakdown followed the usual pattern:
Hour one: 4.46 million
Hour two: 4.40 million
Hour three: 4.00 million
The numbers are strong all around, and while it's clear viewers are struggling to maintain interest for three hours every Monday night, the fact that WWE can garner an average of 4 million viewers for three straight hours is impressive.
It's likely the reason they won't be going back to two hours, whether Triple H wants that or not.
