AJ Lee returns to WWE on Raw; wins back Divas title from Paige

AJ Lee made a surprise return to WWE on tonight's (June 30, 2014) episode of Monday Night Raw in Hartford, Connecticut, interrupting a promo from Divas Champion Paige to a thunderous ovation.

Here's what she had to say:

"Paige ... look, I just wanted to come out here and say that you're right. This isn't entirely easy for me to say but you're right. I mean, you did what no woman in almost a year could do. You proved me wrong. You proved everyone wrong. And I know the kind of person I became. I let success go to my head. And, granted, I was the longest reigning Divas champion of all time. But I shouldn't have rubbed it in everyone's face like I did. I thought I was untouchable. And you gave me the slap of reality that I needed. So I wanted to return the favor. And say thank you and congratulations."

Paige took this to mean AJ was trying the same tactic Paige did when she debuted on Raw back on April 7 in New Jersey the night after WrestleMania 30.

AJ's response:

"Well, Paige, my sweet little crumpet. Why don't we let everyone here decide. Do you guys want to see a championship rematch right now?"

The crowd responded in the affirmative and they had a title match right then and there.

And AJ won in fairly short order, regaining the Divas championship before skipping right on to the back.

The fans chanted CM Punk's name multiple times throughout the segment, which is a real shame, but the segment got over big anyway. Plus, this would kill all rumors of her being pregnant.
