We knew Batista would be leaving WWE soon to go on hiatus so he can fulfill promotional duties for the upcoming release of the Guardians of the Galaxy blockbuster he stars in as Drax the Destroyer. We just didn't know how he would be written off television.
Now we do.
He quit.
Tonight's (June 2, 2014) episode of Monday Night Raw opened with Evolution hitting the ring and Triple H cutting an impassioned promo telling the fans the feud with The Shield is not over because he simply does not lose any fight he participates in.
Batista quickly cut in and said he wants no part of another match with The Shield. Instead, he wants the one-on-one WWE world heavyweight championship match he earned when he won the Royal Rumble, the match Triple H had previously promised him.
"The Game" said he would get it once they vanquished The Shield.
Batista said, "I understand. And I quit."
