Survivor Series wasn't necessarily the strongest pay-per-view (PPV) this past Sunday night in St. Louis but WWE delivered a historic surprise when Sting made his debut to lay out Triple H in the main event, giving Team Cena the win over Team Authority.
Considering all that, viewers for the following night's episode of Monday Night Raw were always going to be up. Sure enough, the show drew 4.29 million viewers, way up from the 3.76 million it delivered last week.
The bigger news is the number for the first hour, and the monster drop to the second hour:
Hour one: 4.73 million
Hour two: 3.99 million
Hour three: 4.01 million
Interest in how WWE would follow up on Sting finally showing up as well as how they would follow up on The Authority losing power led to the highest viewers in the first hour dating back to just after WrestleMania 30. As you can see, however, the lackluster show that followed was mirrored by the numbers of fans who tuned out.
Take the bad with the good, right?
