WWE running injury angle for Kane after Bray Wyatt family attack on Raw

WWE is running an injury angle for Kane after Bray Wyatt and family debuted on "Monday Night Raw" last night (July 8, 2013) and attacked him.

Last night's (July 8, 2013) episode of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore featured Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan all making their debut (watch it here) as the Wyatt family just after a match between Kane and Christian late in the show. In short, the Wyatt family laid waste to "The Big Red Monster."

He did a stretcher job right after and now WWE.com is playing up the injury.

"Due to the head and neck trauma suffered by Kane, we precautiously immobilized his cervical spine with a cervical collar. He's been transported to a local trauma facility and is currently undergoing further evaluation."

Following the attack, Kane was carted off on a stretcher and taken to a local medical facility.

"After [Kane] was put into the ambulance, he was coherent; he was speaking to us and following simple commands. The biggest concern that we have is any sort of brain or cervical spine trauma that may be significant enough to either warrant surgery, or an extended period of time away from the ring."

There's plenty of speculation already that this was done as a way to get Kane out of the WWE championship Money in the Bank ladder match he's booked for this weekend in Philadelphia. While that's possible, this didn't seem like an attack done as a way to write Kane off television for the time being, though that could certainly end up being the case.

Stay tuned. We'll likely know more after the SmackDown tapings tonight in Hampton.
