Tonight's (July 8, 2013) episode of Monday Night Raw represents the go home show to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) this coming Sunday night in Philadelphia. WWE will be putting its best foot forward with a loaded show that includes the big debut of the Wyatt family, and Vickie Guerrero's job evaluation.
To the latter point, the promotion may be stealing an idea from TNA.
Indeed, the Wrestling Observer reports that the original idea for that segment was to have it look like Gut Check.
The original idea for the Vickie Guerrero thing set for RAW Monday is a takeoff on the TNA Gut Check idea where the three McMahon family members are there each voting for her future with the company.
Considering how often company leader Vince McMahon demands rewrites, it's entirely possible this is not what we'll end up seeing on television tonight when Raw hits the airwaves on USA at 8 p.m. ET.
Borrowing from TNA aside, it's actually a sound idea. After all, we've been put through weeks of Vince, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H messing with Guerrero backstage. Gut Check never gets over in front of TNA houses, but with the personalities involved here, WWE could tear the house down with it.
We'll see how it looks later tonight. Click here to follow along with the Raw live blog.
