The Rock vs. John Cena WrestleMania 29 main event match official ... again

John Cena defeated CM Punk in the main event of Monday Night Raw last night (Feb. 25, 2013) in Dallas to once again make it official that he will main event WrestleMania 29 against The Rock with the WWE championship on the line.

WWE did its best to build high drama for last night's (Feb. 25, 2013) episode of Monday Night Raw by having John Cena put up his guaranteed championship match at WrestleMania on the line against CM Punk. The two delivered a classic, one of the best matches in the history of the show, that saw Cena win clean after a hurricanrana and AA.

That makes it official once more.

The Rock will defend his WWE championship against John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29 on Sun., April 7, 2013, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Less than a month after winning the Royal Rumble Match and announcing his intention of challenging for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 29, John Cena found out who his championship opposition will be on The Grandest Stage of Them All: The Rock. The Great One upended CM Punk at Elimination Chamber, the last pay-per-view before The Show of Shows, to retain the cherished WWE Championship and solidify his place in WrestleMania's main event. In The Brahma Bull, Cena will be facing a foe who helped set in motion the tailspin of a year that was 2012.

It may not be the match fans want or are calling for but in the end, it's definitely a match fans will pay to see. The first encounter between the two at WrestleMania 28 last year did near-record buys on pay-per-view, and the rematch, this time with the WWE championship on the line, promises to be even bigger.

After Cena's win on Raw last night, Rock sent out a tweet:

Greatness vs. Redemption, huh? And so we're on.

Here's the updated WrestleMania 29 line-up:

- The Rock vs. John Cena
- Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger
