For those of you hoping that Undertaker's surprise return at a house show this past weekend in Waco, Texas, meant he would finally be coming back to Monday Night Raw tonight (Feb. 25, 2013) in Dallas, well, you were obviously disappointed.
That's because "The Deadman" stayed home.
Indeed, PWInsider.com reported before the show began that he was not backstage but there were rumblings that he may have been hiding out. WWE may have also done a magnificent troll job too, sneaking someone under the ring before the main event match in clear enough view that fans in the arena saw it and tweeted about it.
But John Cena and CM Punk went ahead and had a classic match that -- hyperbole alert -- may have been the greatest in the history of Raw. By the time it was over, hopes of Undertaker's return were replaced with euphoria at the fact that two of the top stars in the industry today worked their ass off to put on an unbelievable match.
Still, it seems everything is building towards 'Taker coming back to battle Punk at WrestleMania 29 on April 7 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. We'll just have to wait another week to be sure.
Fine with that?
