Well, the cat was already out of the bag, so instead of denying reports or waiting on rumors to die down in the hopes of a surprise return, WWE has officially announced the date Batista will come back to the promotion that made him a star.
He'll be back on Jan. 20, 2014, on Monday Night Raw, which just so happens to be the go home show to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) taking place in Pittsburgh just six days later.
With rumors floating that he could be winning the Rumble and challenging Randy Orton for the WWE world heavyweight title at WrestleMania 30, WWE obviously felt it prudent to get the word out now in the hopes of building interest for that possibility. Now, everyone can prepare for the return of "The Animal".
