WWE Raw results and live blog for Jan. 21: The Royal Rumble go home show

WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Jan. 21, 2013) from San Jose, California, featuring the go home show to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday night in Phoenix, Arizona.

There are only six days remaining before the big Rumble match and the WWE championship showdown between The Rock and CM Punk. That means we're (hopefully) going to get more confirmed entrants and one really good segment between Rock and Punk on the way to their highly anticipated match.

All that and more.

Vickie Guerrero makes her way to the ring with Paul Heyman on her arm and he helps her up the stairs. Heyman is great at the little things.

Vickie wants to address the Rock Concert last week.

"I am here is a show of solidarity with Miss Vickie Guerrero"- Heyman

Heyman is laying it on thick in complimenting Guerrero. This is great.

Vickie gives us a replay of last week's terrible segment and they give us the part about Heyman's penis specifically. Stay classy.

"It's one thing to pick a fight with me....it's another thing to pick a fight with you Vickie. A poor defenseless widow like you"- Heyman

"Things I wouldn't even repeat in San Jose of all places"- Heyman

No a replay of his insults at Vickie.

"I am so glad that you all enjoyed how the Rock maliciously attacked our appearances last week. So while the Rock is here in San Jose tonight, I have banned him from the arena tonight. So if he shows up tonight he will be arrested by the San Jose tonight"- Vickie

A production member lets Vickie know that Rock is outside the arena waiting.

Rock is upset and the police are letting him know that he will arrest the Rock.

Rock says they should arrest Punk, Heyman, and Vickie with some pathetic insults at their various genitalia and looks.

He promises to make it into the arena somehow.

Back in the ring Vickie is upset.

"If you smell what the Vick is cooking!"-Vickie

We are going to have a BTC challenge throughout the night to earn choice of spot in the Rumble.

Beat the Clock Challenge: Antonio Cesaro vs Randy Orton

Cesaro goes for the quick roll up but only gets a 1 count.

Orton tries the same thing and is unsucessful.

Orton and Cesaro are exchanging headlocks and Cesaro takes control.

Cesaro maintains control with some uppercuts but Orton fights out and hits a Thesz Press.

Orton goes for a suplex but Cesaro counters with a cradle but only gets a 2 count.

Orton with a dropkick and Cesaro rolls out of the ring. Orton follows him out and drags him back into the ring.

Cut to commercial

Back from break and Cesaro is in control in the corner. He goes for the superplex but Orton fights out of it. Cesaro pushes Cesaro off the turnbuckle and onto the floor.

He drags Orton back to the ring and gets a two count. Gut wrench suplex to follow up but only gets two count.

Orton fights back and hits some cloteslines and scoop slam. Brings Cesaro to the ropes for the draping DDT but Cesaro counters with a pin attempt.

SWISS DEATH! Only gets the two count though.

Cesaro runs Orton into the ring post and as he looks at the clock Orton hits the RKO and gets the pin.

Randy Orton wins by pinfall at 11:36.

Big Show vs Zack Ryder

Ryder is getting time on Raw but this should be short.

Maddox hopping onto commentary. YES! YES! YES!

They are focusing on Maddox and not the in ring reaction.

The glimpses we are getting in ring is Ryder getting crushed.

WMD and Show gets the three count.

Big Show wins by pinfall.

Maddox has ditched the announcing now.

Big Show tries to cut a promo on Del Rio but the crowd stars giving him the "What?" chant so he chastizes them and just walks out.

Heyman on the phone in the back but Maddox interrupts to film his web show. He is implying that he will help Heyman in some way.

Heyman says he was wrong about Maddox and offers to work with him going forward.

3MB in the ring and Ryback is makes his way down..

Ryback vs Heath Slater

Slater gets some early offense but Ryback takes control.

Huge clothesline to Slater and Ryback is going after McIntyre and Mahal now.

Shellshock and the pin.

Ryback wins by pinfall.

He's on the mic now.

"Damn my job is fun."

He states that the Rumble is made ofr him and it is the match that will lead him to Wrestlemania.

Short but sweet.

Rock still trying to convince the cops to let him into the arena.

Vickie comes in and tells the cops they need to arrest Rock.

They let her know he hasn't crossed the line yet.

Vickie says she will lift the banishment if the Rock apologizes.

He refuses and calls her a beeeyotch. Sigh.

Punk to the ring now. He is holding the belt instead of Heyman.

"What I hold here I hold more dear to my heart than most men hold their families"

He continues discussing how his reign is only a fraction of it's way through.

Punk says the Rock has to be the People's Champion because he can't be the actual champion.

Damn this promo is good. I can't really do it justice with my own words.

"I had to make a choice between hypocritical humility and honest arrogance. I chose honest arrogance."

"It doesn't matter if I smell what the Rock is cooking, at the Royal Rumble I will remain the Undisputed WWE Champion and Best in the World"

That promo was great. I could only scratch the surface. Watch the video as soon as it is up.

Beat the Clock Challenge: Dolph Ziggler vs the Miz

Miz with two quick roll ups but doesn't get past a one count.

They trade off quick pin attempts but neither gets the pin.

Ziggler with a huge drop kick and gets a two count. Neck breaker and another nearfall.

Ziggler with a sleeper hold. Miz fights out eventually.

Miz gets a tackle on the knee and he is working the knee. Miz attempts to get the figure four in but Ziggler counters and pushes him to the outside.

Ziggler distracts the ref while Big E gets a quick shot in. Ziggler rolls him back in and gets a near fall as we go to break.

Back from break and Ziggler is in control but Miz fights out.

Miz with a big kick a nearfall.

Miz is taking it to Ziggler in the corner and gets close to getting disqualifed. He goes up top and hits the axe handle off the turnbuckle but Ziggler kicks out of the pin attempt.

Ziggler hits a big DDT and only gets the two count.

Miz is able to counter Ziggler and get him into a figure four but AJ distracts the ref and Big E pulls him to the ropes.

Big E with another distraction and Ziggler hits the Zig Zag for the pin.

Ziggler wins by pinfall at 10:56.

Anger Management Graduation!

This is going to be great.

Dr. Shelby in the ring with cap and gown on.

He introduces them and they are wearing the graduation gowns. Bryan and Kane have their hair slicked and parted.

Dr. Shelby lets them know how far they have come and Bryan starts to get worked up. Kane whispers in his ear and calms him down.

Dr. Shelby gives them both their cap and diploma and does the tassell change thing.

Since Dr. Shelby doesn't give grades so he let's them decide who Valedictorian should be and talk about their feelings.

They begin arguing over who should be Valedictorian and Dr. Shelby gets upset.

Dr. Shelby chant gets started when he suggests they give each other a hug. They agree and it turns into a hugging session for everyone!

Cole tries to get a hug from Lawler and he eventually gives in from the crowd. Now it's the ringside doctor and announcer.

"I'd rather hug Dr. Samson, he saved my life."- Lawler

Now they are picking out random people from the audience to hug.

THIS IS AWESOME!

Everyone in the ring and the crowd begins hugging.

Dr. Shelby, Kane, and Daniel Bryan are now jumping up and down while hugging.

Hugs to everyone out there.

Kaitlyn vs Alicia Fox

Kaitlyn is in control early and they cut to Taminia in the back watching the match.

Fox gets some head tosses and a big clothesline in. She locks in the sleeper on Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn reverses and hits the spear for the pinfall.

Kaitlyn wins by pinfall.

Heyman in the back with Punk.

Heyman has gotten a skybox for Punk so he can watch the upcoming Paul-bomb.

Heyman understands why the fans are having trouble with Punk. He is just too articulate and intelligent for the masses. Heyman is going to be his interpreter.

The Rock is here because Vince McMahon is a tyrant and is desperate to end Punk's reign.

The Rock is concentrating too much on Heyman and his junk, not enough on CM Punk. Ha!

"Just like the people, the Rock is stupid"

Rock's music hits and he is showing off a ticket he bought to get into the event.

Punk looks bored up in his sky box now that the Rock is here.

Apparently the San Jose PD gave him the ticket.

Heyman tries to bring up the point that the tickets doesn't entitle him to get into the ring but he is cut off by Rock.

Rock starts putting over Punk as having earned the right to call himself Best in the World but it will still be his last Raw as champion.

Much better work this week,

Rock starts to intertwine MLK into his speech and finishes up.

Lights go out and Shield is attacking Rock! They lay him out in the ring.

Rock is selling it like a champ while Punk is starting to cut a promo from the skybox.

"Sunday you'll find out the Great One just isn't great enough."

Rock is spitting out blood in the ring. Looks like he busted a lip or something as we go to break.

Beat the Clock Challenge: Sheamus vs Wade Barrett

Sheamus takes control early with a head lock and shoulder block.

Barrett fights back and is working Sheamus in the corner. Doesn't last long and Sheamus gives him some spears in the corner.

Barret back in control as we head to break.

Back from break and Barrett is still in control.

Barrett hits a suplex and works on the should of Sheamus.

Barrett whips Sheamus into the ropes but Sheamus is able to hit a couple of axe handles and a big knee.

Barrett charges at Sheamus, but Sheamus flips him over and sets up the forearm spot at the ropes. Big suplex to bring Barrett back into the ring.

Barrett kicks out of the pin attempt and hits huge kicks to the guy and chin of Sheamus. Sheamus kicked out at two however.

Barrett goes for Wasteland but gets reversed into a White Noise.

Dolph, AJ, and Big E hit the ring to get in the way of Sheamus hitting the Brogue Kick!

Barrett hits Wasteland but only gets a two count.

Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick but time runs out!

No winner.

Vickie in the back and and Ziggler and Co. come in to celebrate winning the Beat the Clock Challenge. He starts to make out with AJ in front of her and begins debating what number he should pick.

Vickie with the swerve and says that he doesn't get to pick any number. It's between 1 and 2.

Punk and Heyman walking in the back when the run into Vince McMahon. Punk says he has nothing to do with the Shield. Vince proclaims that if the Shield interferes in the title match at Royal Rumble there will be consequences.

Punk and Heyman makes their and Vince responds that the consequence is CM Punk being stripped of the title.

Alberto Del Rio vs Tensai

Tensai working Del Rio in the corner and hits two second rope splashes.

Del Rio fights back with a headscissors from the top rope and a big german suplex.

Del Rio hits the enziguiri and moonsault from the turnbuckle for the pin.

Del Rio wins by pinfall.

Del Rio gets on the mic and cuts a quick promo on Big Show. He then counts to ten in Spanish.

John Cena hits the ring for his address to the fans.

Cena is putting over Sundays. Ok.......

Now he is putting over some kid as crushing him in Black Ops 2. This is just painful.

Now he is hitting discussing some lady's Sunday as a recovery from the night before.

Now onto some guy in the audience who Cena says ways up wtih tattoos of Judge Joe Brown and blow up dolls. What the hell is this?

Now we get to the point and he starts talking about the Rumble.

He says he will win the Rumble and now Sheamus is out there.

"That was a bizzare, creative, and passioned speech:- Sheamus

He gets interrupted by PTP and Titus' whistle! Thank you Titus.

Now they get interrupted by Orton coming out.

He gets a couple of sentences out and now Miz is out.

Hell No interrupts him.

Cesaro in now and he dedicates it to his home away from home- America.

3MB's turn to get a few words in.

Now the entire locker room is hitting the ring and they start brawling in the ring.

We get a couple of minutes of brawling and then cut to black.
