During last night's (Dec. 10, 2012) episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE booked a four way tag team match between The Rhodes Scholars, The Usos, Primo and Epico, and the Prime Time Players to determine who would move on to the TLC pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday night in Brooklyn to face Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in a number one contender tables match.
Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes, step right up.
Indeed, the dynamic duo scored the victory after their reunion featuring Rhodes sporting a glorious mustache. The two were getting a fairly big push before Rhodes went down to injury in a tag title match against Team Hell No on Main Event weeks ago, and WWE wasted no time resuming that push just as soon as Cody was healthy enough to return.
Will that continue this weekend?
After prevailing in a trying Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Team Match on Raw Dec. 10, the newly reassembled Team Rhodes Scholars has earned a Tables Match against Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara this Sunday at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. Making the match all the more enticing is its No 1 Contenders' stipulation: The duo that successfully puts both its opponents through tables on pay-per-view Sunday will automatically be named top contenders to WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No.
The fact that it's a tables match adds just the right amount of flavor to make this already exciting affair that much more intriguing. All four of these guys can work and it's nice to see WWE bother to set this up beforehand with an official announcement rather than throw it together during the live show as a bonus match to kill time.
