The Intercontinental championship match may have been relegated to the pre-show of tonight's (Sun., April 7, 2013) WrestleMania 29 pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but at least it was given a spot on the card.
That's more than can be said for Antonio Cesaro and the United States championship.
Wade Barrett put his strap up for grabs against The Miz, who he's spent the past few weeks feuding with. And he tapped it away to a Figure Four leglock in the center of the ring.
The two worked a basic match, hardly able to do much of anything with the small amount of time they were given. In fact, from the first theme song hitting to the tapout from Barrett, they probably only got about 12 minutes.
It's they needed to trade a few spots, have Miz lock in the Figure Four to tease a finish, have it broken, and finish it the second time he locked it on to a fairly decent pop from the crowd, who were starting to get rained on.
Now it's on to the PPV portion of the show. See you there!
