WrestleMania 29: Shawn Michaels will be in Triple H's corner for Brock Lesnar match

There were rumors dating back months that Shawn Michaels would reappear during the lead up to WrestleMania 29 and find his way into the mix in the planned Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar rematch from SummerSlam 2012. After all, as part of the build to that first match, "The Heartbreak Kid" had his arm broken to get heat on the Brockness Monster.

But with only one episode of Monday Night Raw left before the big dance, set for this Sun., April 7, 2013, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, it seemed WWE had bailed on those plans, if they were ever there to begin with.

Turns out they were, and the promotion didn't bail on anything.

Tonight's episode of Raw in Washington D.C. saw Michaels make a surprise return -- well, it was teased just before showtime on social media, of course -- to tell "The Game" he will be in his corner at the "Showcase of the Immortals" this weekend to make sure they vanquish the beast once and for all.

And save Triple H's career in the process.

We'll see if that's what actually happens but at the very least the most star-studded WrestleMania in years just added even more star power with Mr. WrestleMania himself.
