"108 years. 108 years. Finally, the day has come. The time as come. The moment is here. You know a Snake can smell fear. What did you expect, huh? What did you expect? Jake the Snake. No promises unbroken here. You see, it's time to get serious, real serious. You know why? Because it's been too damn long. Oh yeah. Cubbies: stand, unite. It's time to get this thing done. You bring 'em up, I'll sit 'em down. Please, please, please don't make me hit you with the DDT. But if I did, you couldn't do nothing about it. Cub fans stand, Cub fans unite, Cub fans let's do it, let's do it tonight. Cub fans, strike out? No way. Strike fear? You bet. We're going to turn this game inside out because Jake the Snake said so, and you can always trust a snake."
The Cubs play the Indians tonight (Nov. 1, 2016) in Cleveland down 3-2 in the best-of-seven World Series. They'll need to win the next two games to end the 108 year drought Roberts speaks of. They'll have to beat some fine pitching (and finally hit a few breaking balls) to do it. Jake Arietta gets the start tonight.
