As you can see in the video above, WWE is now openly acknowledging and apparently running an angle for Tyson Kidd and Natalya on its television programs, starting with the NXT Takeover event that saw both come up short in championship bids against Adrian Neville and Charlotte, respectively.
The above video is an interview that we're told was conducted before Takeover with intercut scenes from the show revealing exactly what happened. Michael Cole is particularly good here hammering home the point that Kidd comes off terribly on Total Divas (he does) and his back is against the wall heading into the Neville match because a loss would make him a never was (he would/did).
We see the strain in the relationship brought on by crushed hopes and failed dreams. Kidd is upset because he proved himself a never was, as he said he would if he lost, and now he has to go back to the drawing board once again.
This occurs amidst rumors that Kidd will be getting repackaged as a masked wrestler soon because his name has been devalued so much WWE recognizes there is no saving it. He's a talented worker, however, with plenty of untapped potential.
Stay tuned.
