Rey Mysterio won the Royal Rumble in 2006, earning him a shot at the world heavyweight championship at WrestleMania 22 later that year. Because of Eddie Guerrero's untimely death in November the year prior, Mysterio, one of Guerrero's best friends, was given a big push. Tribute was paid with a title win at WrestleMania in a triple threat match against Randy Orton and Kurt Angle.
In the latest edition of "Behind the Match", Mysterio takes us behind the scenes of that very match. I still maintain the idea for this series is great but the execution could be so much better. Mysterio's revelations -- that he missed a 619 on the outside after slipping off the ring post because he was "nervous" and a triple german suplex was a big deal because it "hurt" -- border on downright boring.
It should be the exact opposite.
Perhaps the goods will come when WWE is looking for fresh ideas for its upcoming WWE Network.
