Impact Wrestling Results, Live Blog (Apr. 27, 2017): Tag Title Street Fight!

TNA Impact is back tonight (Apr. 27) from Orlando, Florida and will be airing on Pop TV at 8 EST. This is your spot for the live updates and to talk about it with your fellow fans.

Tonight, LAX will defend their tag team championships against Decay in a street fight. Also, Davey Richards will challenge Moose for the Grand Championship, we’ll likely get follow up on the EC3 heel turn, and may learn what happens with all of the GFW titles.

We'll be here at 8 EST when Impact starts, so come join us!

The show opens with Josh Mathews. (Don’t be surprised.)

He says that this company won’t bully announcers. He says he has the breaking news for JB and an office stooge will tell him. A man says he’s representing the human resources department when Mathews takes the mic and says he’ll do him itself. He says that Borash is being removed from the announce desk and suspended effective immediately.

JB is escorted out. As he is leaving Pope whispers into Jeremy’s ear.

Josh Mathews takes his place on commentary.

Trevor Lee (w/Shane Helms) vs. Matt Sydal (!!)

Lee ambushes Sydal as the bell rings, clearly pissed after losing his title last week. Sydal lands a kick pretty quickly and then a couple more to force Lee out of the ring. When Sydal jumps the ropes and lands on the apron, Helms knocks him off the apron while Lee slides into the ring to distract the ref.

This allows Trevor to take the advantage of the former Evan Bourne.

Lee starts talking some trash to the downed Sydal and Sydal pops up and hits a spinning heel kick. He goes for a standing moonstault but Lee rolls him up for a 2 count. The former champ goes for a jumping knee but Matt blocks it and hits a standing moonsault. He goes for a pin and Helms jumps on the apron to distract the ref.

This ends up with Sydal hitting Lee into Helms. This distracts Lee, allowing Sydal to set Lee up for the Shooting Star Press and hitting it for the 1-2-3.

Sydal def. Lee

Karen Jarrett is backstage on her phone when Sienna walks up asking where this GFW Women’s champion is. Karen says the champ has a match tonight so she should pull up a chair to watch because next week, Sienna has a match with her.

EC3/James Storm segment

EC3 comes out to the ring. He sets up a chair in the middle of the ring, grabs a mic, and takes a seat. He says he has a message for the new regime that wants to “Ugh... make Impact great.” For the last 3 years, he’s put this company on his back and he doesn’t earn respect. He demands it.

He tells Bruce Pritchard that he took his advise and looked in the mirror and what he says was a “literal demigod” who ran roughshod over Impact for an eon. He has a message for everyone trying to take his spot, he will eviscerate them and send them back to the glory hole from which they came. He has a message for us, the fans. We can all kiss his privileged, perfectly round, bleached ass.

He then told himself that he will return to the glory from which he should have never left - the TNA champion. Because he’s the best.

And he has a message for James Storm. He says that Storms harkens to a past that he’s already destroyed. And he’s just an overrated piece of crap.

That gets the Cowboy’s attention, who walks to the ring with a purpose. He gets into the ring and Carter slides out.

Storm says he doesn’t blame him because he knows he’s just jealous. James says he knows that knows he can still beat EC3’s ass. Storm tells Carter if he wants to dance, get in the ring, because his family isn’t here to protect him any more. EC3 declines and walks off. Storm says he should be called EC-bitch instead.

That gets Carter’s attention and the two men brawl, with Cowboy having the early advantage. Storm eventually looks for the Last Call and has to retreat. When Storm follows him, he grabs a production member and uses her as a shield. Storm moves her aside and this allows Carter to kick Storm in the balls. Then he hits a One Percenter in the ring.

Carter grabs the mic again and says that he’s a Carter and this company needs him.

They show KM at a restaurant. He said that the food was good, the waiter says he’s glad to hear he thought it was good, and then KM says that he never said that. He then gets in the waiters face and asks if he’s calling him a liar. He then tells the waiter to “make like a tree and get the hell out of here.”

They play a Christina Von Eerie video package.

Christina Von Eerie (c) vs. Ava Storie for the GFW Women’s title

Von Eerie gets some kicks to Storie early and follows up with some corner splashes. And then a pretty nasty running kick to the head when Storie is hung up on the second rope.

Eerie gets Storie in a Fireman’s and Ava rakes the eyes. Ava knocks the champ down and delivers some weak looking punches. CVE tries to fight back but Storie hits a side slam.

The two trade strikes in the center. The champ gets the challenger in the corner, gets on the 2nd rope, grabs the arms of Ava, and delivers a back stabber for the 1-2-3.

Von Eerie retains.

They show Swoggle coming from the crowd and rubbing the hair of Rockstar Spud.

They play a video package of Low-Ki talking about taking the X Division into a new era.

They play a video package recapping the Wolves feud.

McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with Alberto El Patron. She him if he think she’s the next in line for the TNA title. Patron says of course but here comes GFW champ Magnus who says he is. They bicker until Karen Jarrett says that in two weeks, Magnus will face Patron for the GFW title.

Davey Richards vs. Moose (c) (w/D’Angelo Williams and Gary Barnidge) for the Grand Championship

Round One: Davey starts with some kicks. Moose responds with one of his own, but when he jumps on the second rope, Davey Richards kicks his leg. He then pulls the same leg down on the second rope. He kisses his wife and goes back to work on the leg.

Moose kicks Davey off of a leg submission and delivers a big chop. However Richrds drop kicks the leg and locks in a Figure Four on the champ. It takes the better part of a minute, but Moose finally grabs the rope as the time expires.

Davey Richards wins the round by unanimous decision

Round Two: Davey comes out hot with an elbow in the corner and a series of kicks, bringing Moose down. Richards goes to the top, jaws with the NFL guys, and goes for a stomp. But Moose moves, hits a powerbomb, senton, and a second rope Moonsault! 2 count!

Both men are up and Moose delivers a big chop that staggers the challenger. And a second. He goes for the discus clothesline but Davey hits a kick. They exchange a series of moves, where Moose hits a big clothesline for a nearfall.

Moose goes back on the offense with a headbutt and a chop. Davey responds with a kick. But Moose with a bigger one!

Moose wins the round by split decision

Round Three: Moose is walking with a limp still but is able to hit a BIG DROP KICK TO DAVEY WHO’S ON THE TOP ROPE! Davey falls to the outside! Davey makes his way back in and Moose situates him on the top rope. He goes for a superplex but Davey fights out. Sunset Flip powerbomb from the top! Running kick ot the head! Davey goes up top... Double Stomp! 1-2-Kick out!

Davey puts him right in an ankle lock!

Out runs Eddie Edwards to attack Davey Richards! Security runs after him, but this ends in a DQ.

Davey wins by DQ (I think)

Davey is in the ring as the two football players stands behind him. He shoves Williams... and shoves him again... and then D’Angelo responds with a big time shove of his own. Davey runs at him but Barnidge catches him and slams him!

Swoggle is still torturing Rockstar Spud. He steals his appers and runs into the ring with it. He starts ripping him up. Spud goes for Swoggle and he tries to escape through the legs of Spud. Spud grabs his leg and ends up accidentally taking Swoggle’s pants off.

Matt Sigmon vs. Kongo Kong (w/Laurel Van Ness, KM, and Sienna)

Sigmon tries to run at first and then tries some offense but neither works against Kong. Kong has all of the offense. He hits a cannon ball in the corner and a splash from the top for the win.

Kongo Kong wins

Fallah Bahh & Mario Bokara vs. Veterans of War

It’s Crimson (now known as Mayweather) and a dude named Wilcox.

It starts with Mayweather and Bokara, who gets shoved into the corner. He jumps at Mayweather from the second rope but the big man catches him Mayweather slides out but receives a big back body drop. Bahh is tagged in.

Now it’s Bahh and Wilcox. Bahh hits a plash in the corner but Wilcox no sells it. He follows him out and stands behind him without Bahh realizing it. Wilcox picks up Bahh and hits him with a big Samoan Drop. Both members of VOW tee off on Bahh. Bokara tries to help but gets knocked out of the ring.

Mayweather is tagged in and they hit a high low on Fahh... but Bokara breaks it up. Both members deliver a double suplex to Mayweather but he also no sells it. They defeat Bokara with a double team that looks like an inverted Magic Killer.

Veterans of War win

Mayweather grabs a mic and introduces themselves to the crowd. He says he’s served two tours in Iraq. Wilcox is a marine who did a tour of Iraq and one of Afghanistan. They did it because they felt it was their duty to serve. Even though they’re separated from the military, the warrior in them still thrives. He says they look forward to challenging for those tag titles.

Apparently during the break, Swoggle attacked Spud with a hammer from panting him earlier.

Eli Drake is backstage with Tyrus. He’s griping about how they weren’t on the live episode last week. He’s upset with all the people coming in and getting free title shots. Patron gets to wrestle for the championship but not him? He says he’s going to take care of this and make something happen.

Decay vs. LAX (c) in a street fight for the tag team titles

Starts with the brawl between the proper champs in the ring. Steve is isolated in the middle of the ring and both Santana and Ortiz work on him. Abyss, who had been take out briefly outside, goes for a double chokeslam on both men. They fight out but he delivers a double clothesline instead. Steve and Abyss go for weapons under the ring as Impact goes to break.

When Impact returns, there are two barbed wired boards set up in the corners and a table. Abyss was about to chokeslam Ortiz through the table when Homicide hit the big man with a steel chair. Steve comes back and goes at Ortiz but he gets tossed hard face first in the corner. Ortiz grabs a garbage can and takes it to both members of Decay. Soon, Santana joins him in the ring and they work over Decay.

As LAX maintains the advantage, someone slides a bag full of tacks into the ring. Steve is about to take a double Superplex but Abyss tosses them off of him and Steve hits a bodyblock on both men from Abyss’s shoulders. Double chokeslam Abyss!

Now Dcay are in control. Abyss has a kendo stick and Steve a garbage can and they are getting good use out of them. Steve tosses Ortiz’s throat against a chair.

Abyss throws a chair straight at Ortiz’s head! Rosemary slides in to go for the mist but hits Abyss by accident instead! Ortiz runs Abyss into the barbed wire board... and here comes Diamonte. She breaks Rosemary in half with a huge German suplex!

Abyss meanwhile is sandwiched between the barbed wired boards and Santana cannon balls into them!

Steve delivers a DVD to Ortiz into the corner but Konnan pulls the official out of the ring! Homicide runs in but Steve is able to toss him out of the ring. He sets up Ortiz on the table and then grabs the bag of tacks and pours them on Ortiz who is lifeless on the table. He climbs to the top rope.... but Homicide holds his leg and Santana delivers a kick.

Ortiz is off the table and grabs Steve while Santana climbs to the top.... DOUBLE TEAM POWERBOMB BLOCKBUSTER THROUGH THE TABLE. 1-2-3

LAX retains their titles
