TNA Impact Results, Live Blog (June 28, 2016): Triple Threat Title Match

TNA Wrestling Twitter

TNA Impact is back tonight (June 28, 2016) from Orlando, Florida. This is your spot for the live updates and to talk about it with your fellow fans and viewers.

Tonight, Bobby Lashley will be defending his title against both Drew Galloway and EC3, Sienna will be defending her Knockouts Title against Gail Kim, Eli Drake will be hosting his Fact of Life, and Mike Bennett joins the X Division as champion.

We’ll be here at 9 EST when Impact will be starting, so come join us!

Lashley/EC3/Mike Bennett/Drew Galloway opening segment

The show opens with Maria Kanellis and X Division champ Mike Bennett in the ring. Maria thanks Billy Corgan for being fair unlike Dixie Carter. Mike Bennett then talks about using Option C in 2 weeks at Destination X. He tells Lashley that he's got something he wants and the Destroyer isn't half the man the Miracle is.

Of course, Lashley comes out to respond to this. Lashley tells him that looking at the two of the, Bennett is half the man Bobby is. Bennett asks if Lashley is trying to intimidate him, but Bobby tells him that when he wants to intimidate Bennett, he'll know. He then calls Bennett an "afterthought." The Miracle says that he hopes Drew Galloway, EC3, and Lashley tear each other apart tonight because at Destination X, he's taking that title.

Now Ethan Carter takes his turn to come on out. He says he's planning his reemergence like the invasion of Normandy. They go back and for verbally. When Mike Bennett injects, EC3 calls him out for using a rockstar and cheating his way to the title.

Billy Corgan comes out with new music. He's not happy that EC3 is "imputing his name." Carter ends up suggesting that everyone in the X Division get a shot at the title tonight. Corgan is OK with the idea of defending the title tonight. Bennett will have to defend his title against the winner of a battle royal tonight.

Bennett and EC3 go at each other. Lashley gets involved and this becomes a 2 on 1 until Galloway runs out to make the save. However, when Drew is going for a Claymore on Lashley, the Destroyer moves and he nails EC3 instead.

Backstage, Drew Galloway tries to explain to EC3 the kick was unintentional. It breaks into an argument that a couple of wrestlers have to get between.

Gail Kim vs. Sienna (c) for the Knockouts Championship

Prior to the match Allie sarcastically congratulates Gail Kim about her HOF induction. She then tells Allie to "silence her."

Towards the end of a somewhat back and forth match, Allie tries to get involved. Jade runs to the ring to stop her but Marti Bell runs down and nails Jade with the night stick. Allie is able to distract Gail (though gets hit from it) and Sienna is able to take advantage for the victory.

Sienna def. Gail Kim to retain her KOs title

Backstage, Matt Hardy is a wheel chair and says it's not ovah... evah!

The Fact of Life with James Storm

Eli Drake is hosting the Fact of Life. Prior to the start, he hides behind his desk and introduces himself in a fake voice and it was awesome. Eli talks awhile about mashed potatoes. He turns it around to how his being KOTM champion has rattled some guys in the back. And then he introduces his guest: James Storm.

He talks about how Storm has been going through a bit of a drought and if has the same sentiment of those in the back about Eli Drake holding the King of the Mountain title. James Storm calls him "E... Li... Dork." And of course the crowd chants that. Drake soon goes off on a "Dummy... yeah" button hitting spree calling out people in the crowd.

James Storm wants to turn the "dummy" buzzer into a drinking game. Drake pulls out a gallon of water, which gets boos from the crowd (to which he says "You're booing water?") Drake eventually asks Storm where his title is.

Storm talks about how his title is a guy who has busted his ass and given it all to the fans for TNA. Drake runs him down again to the point that Storm gets pissed. He said that they're going to play a new game: Every time he hits the button, Storm is going to slap the piss out of him. Drake said that the show is over. Storm goes to leave, but when Drake tosses his beer behind him, he ends up getting a Last Call Superkick instead

They show that prior the show, Bram was having a match and he ended up getting attacked by the Decay. Then they show him backstage. Rosemary appears from the behind the crates, jumps on his lap, and tells him to "Let Decay happen."

Matt Hardy/Jeff Hardy segment

Reby Hardy wheels Matt Hardy out to the ring. That's right, he's in a wheelchair. He can't stand up "because his extremities won't allow such luxuries" but he has Reby wheel around the ring to see the fans who have allowed this to happen. He talks about how he detests the Creatures. He rants on Brother Nero and then calls him out.

Jeff Hardy responds, limping to the ring. Matt tells him this won't be over until he ends him. He says he needs one more match that he needs to win. He wants a match in six week ( so he can heal from those life threatening injuries.) Matt says that the winner of this match owns the name Hardy. Jeff takes the match, which seems to upset Reby. They argue and he tells her to get on her broom and fly away.

Matt Hardy then stands up (he's healed!!) and attacks his brother. He takes a chair to him and then puts his head in the chair and delivers a Twist of Fate. He then tells Brother Nero the final match will happen in one weeks time and it will not happen in front of this hell hole of the Impact Zone. No... it'll be at their SANCTUARY OF THEIR GENESIS!!!!!

Battle Royal to become #1 Contender for the X Division Title.

Braxton Sutter, Rockstars Spud, DJ Z, Andrew Everett, Trevor Lee, Mandrews & Eddie Edwards are all in there.

The Helms Dynasty work together much of the match. When Eddie Edwards and Trevor Lee are on the apron, Mike Bennett, who was on commentary, holds Edwards leading to his elimination. This leads to Sutter vs. the Helms Dynasty. When Everett is on the apron, Lee accidentally hits him and Sutter clotheslines Lee out of the ring for the win.

Braxon Sutter wins the Battle Royal

He is immediately blindsided by Shane Helms and the Dynasty lays the boots to him after the match.

Immediatley afterwards:

Mike Bennett vs. Braxton Sutter for the X Division title.

Miracle wins quickly with the Miracle in Progress to retain his title.

Bennett def. Sutter to retain his title

After the match, Bennett lays some punches into Sutter and then talks some trash in his face.

Backstage, Grado and Mahabali Shera are talking. Shera is worried that they have to face the Tribunal and Al Snow down a man. Grado promises he has a third man. Also, apparently Grado owes Shera a lot of money.

The Tribunal and Al Snow vs. Mahabali Shera, Grado, & Tyrus

Before Grado and Shera can introduce Tyrus, the heels attack them and beat them down. The match ends when Tyrus pins Basile Baraka

Shera, Grado, & Tyrus def the Tribunal & Al Snow

Backstage, Mike Bennett says at 9 pm next week, he's walking to the ring and cashing in Option C immediately.

EC3 vs. Drew Galloway vs. Bobby Lashley for the TNA title

This was a pretty good match that played up a lot more the relationship with Drew and EC3 more than anything else. They had times working together. They had times one on one. But in the end, after EC3 hit a TK3 on Lashley and was setting up for the One Percenter, Galloway hit Carter with a Claymore kick. This allowed Lashley to hit a spear on each guy and pin EC3 for the win.

That's the show, folks. Thanks for watching with us!
