We've known about it for quite some time, but last night (May 17), Impact Wrestling finally ran the episode where Velvet Sky exits TNA - the company with whom she's most closely associated, as she's worked there on-and-off for a decade.
In kayfabe, she lost a "loser leaves the company" match against newcomer Sienna. In reality, she joins a list of performers who are synonymous with TNA that have left, like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, Bobby Roode, Angelina Love, ODB and others.
Whether it's a changing of the guard, as "head of the Knockouts" Maria Kanellis told us, or the beginning of the end for a company that's had the death knell rung for it many times throughout the past several years, remains to be seen.
For Sky, it's a classy exit for a woman who had an iconic run as part of the Beautiful People stable. She's never going to be confused for Asuka or Becky Lynch in a match, but she plays babyface or heel well and always connected with the audience - even the small or disinterested ones who sometimes frequent TNA shows.
No word on what the future holds for her in wrestling, but her significant other does work for a company some of you may have heard about...
@BubbaRayDudley thank you for always believing in me, and for being my motivation and inspiration. ❤️❤️
