TNA Impact Results, Live Blog (Dec. 29, 2016): Matt Hardy’s New Year

TNA Impact is back tonight (Dec. 29, 2016) from Orlando, Florida and will be airing on Pop TV at 8 EST. This is your spot for the live updates and to talk about it with your fellow fans.

Tonight, TNA is playing New Year with the Hardys. It sounds like it will have some new scenes, including the gender reveal of the Matt and Reby’s second child while the look back at the Broken Universe. Tune in if you want to see some new Hardy bits and relive their antics from 2016.

Results

We start at House Hardy during the holidays. Vanguard 1 is drinking a mojito made by Señor Benjamin. They then sing 12 Days of Deletion. (“Five dilapidated boats!”)

Then Matt has a premonition. The Seven Deities will soon reveal the gender of his next child. But first he needs to close the door to 2016 with Brother Nero.

• They then play Matt Hardy vs. EC3 in the finals of the World Title Series from last January.

Back to the Hardy Compound. Matt asks VG1 and Benjamin to accompany him to Brother Nero’s home. VG1 is wasted and can’t fly straight on the way. Matt sniffs his breath and says he reeks of alcohol. Benjamin tries to defend Vanguard to Brother Matt.

• They replay the EC3 vs. Matt Hardy Last Man Standing match where Matt turns heel into Big Money Matt.

Matt and Benjamin make their way to Nero’s house. Jeff doesn’t answer the door so Matt asks VG1 to seek out Brother Nero on the property. The drone is sober enough to pull that off. He finds Jeff as Willow in a shack. Then he gets Itchweeed but Matt is asking for Nero. Itch agrees to get Matt Hardy.

• They play Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy in the I Quit match where Jeff Swanton’s Big Money Matt so he needs to get stretchered out.
• The show us Matt vs. Jeff from Slammiversary.
• They play the Final Deletion!

Matt and Brother Nero return to the dome of deletion, the site of the contract signing, including the broken table! Matt says that the 7 Deities told him if he put Jeff through this table, it would start the chain of events leading to the Final Deletion. Matt says Jeff has been deleted but he has grown back stronger - the nefarious Brother Nero. He then makes Nero put the table on his back and follow him.

They find their destination and Matt has Nero discard the table top into a pit of rubbish. Matt tells his brother that his debt is payed: He helped him win the tag titles. He helped him defend their lands in Apocalypto. He then offers him his essence back - free will. He calls VG1, who has his essence, they all hold hands, and the essence is transferred back to Jeff.

He then asks the Deities to help him render the table obsolete and it lights aflame.

• Now onto a replay of Delete or Decay.
• Then the Great War from Bound for Glory.

Matt asks Jeff if he’d prefer him have a boy or girl. Jeff says he’s blessed either way.

• Tag Team Apocalypto is played

Back in Cameron by the Lake of Transformation. It’s time for the reveal and it will take place on the volcano in a matter of seconds! The volcano explodes a blue smoke. It’s a boy! The next generation of the Hardy brothers!

Matt says now they need to strap Impact on their backs and take it to the top of professional wrestling. And Vanguard One is the godfather!
