Eddie Edwards defeats Bobby Lashley to win TNA championship

@ImpactWrestling

Tonight (Oct. 6, 2016) on Impact, Bobby Lashley had his choice of three men to defend his TNA championship against. This title defense came just four days after successfully defending it against EC3 at Bound for Glory. Those three men were EC3, Moose, and Eddie Edwards. Lashley chose Edwards because he was the “easiest” of the three.

Bad choice, Bobby.

Edwards was worked over most of the match and Lashley started acting more and more cocky as the match went out. After playing to the crowd, the dominant champion set up for his spear. Edwards responded with a knee to the face (his finish) and pinned Lashley to become TNA champion for the first time.

Edwards has already held the X Division and the tag team championships in the promotion. He has recently been used all over the card, from the X Division to main event, to fill in where needed.

Congratulations to Eddie Edwards!
