There were rumors and reports floating around that Velvet Sky made have chosen to leave TNA once her contract comes up soon and tonight (April 22, 2016) the company confirmed that's the case in a statement that included a quote from the longtime Knockout:
IMPACT WRESTLING today announced a mutual decision with TNA Knockouts veteran Velvet Sky to not renew her agreement.
Sky's final in-ring appearance with TNA occurred in Orlando earlier today and will broadcast on an upcoming episode of IMPACT WRESTLING seen Tuesday nights at 9/8c on Pop.
"This has been my home for 10 years and, no matter what happens in my future, I will never forget where I've come from or the people who have helped me get where I am," said Sky. "Thank you to everyone at TNA - from talent to production to crew -who has helped me do what I love."
Considering the financial issues the company is currently facing, it's no surprise yet another top star who spent much of their career in TNA -- Sky has been working with the promotion dating all the way back to 2007 -- is moving on.
Now, like the Dudley Boyz, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Bobby Roode, we get to wonder if she'll be making the jump to WWE.
