We don't know whose paying for them, but TNA is in Orlando at the Universal Studios backlot affectionately known as the Impact Zone for taping through the weekend, meaning they'll continue to create a weekly television show and therefore not get dropped from any of their broadcast contracts.
Seems like a low bar to clear, but this is TNA we're talking about.
We're also not 100% sure when the material they filmed last night (Thursday, April 21) will air, but the bulk of it will probably make up their May 3 episode on POP TV.
Here's what happened:
- TNA champ Drew Galloway def. Eli Drake in a probable X-Plosion match.
- A segment in the ring between Jeff Hardy and Mike Bennett lead to a match, which Hardy won by disqualification (I guess) because Lashley showed up and speared him.
- EVOLVE's Caleb Konley defeated Eddie Edwards in a dark (possibly tryout?) match
- James Storm cut a promo on being a singles guy now that Roode is gone, then defeated Abyss. The Decay are now wearing druid-esque hooded robes and Abyss had new facepaint.
- Allysin Kay of Shimmer fame (that's where I know her from, anyway) debuted as Sienna, Maria Kanellis' hired gun against Knockouts champ Jade; match ended in a no contest
- Trevor Lee def. Mandrews to retain his X-Division championship.
- Bram def. Eli Drake, Jessie Godderz, Robbie E & Andrew Everett in a King of the Mountain match to retain that title. Drake attacked Bram afterwards
- Drew Galloway was guest ref for Lashley vs. Jeff Hardy. Bennett was ringside helping Lashley, who brawled with Galloway at one point.
- Ethan Carter III def. Rockstar Spud in a steel cage match. Bennett was also ringside for Spud, so he may be forming a new faction
