Despite not being one of the three men in the TNA main event last night, Drew Galloway was the man who walked out of Impact with the TNA heavyweight title.
The main event was originally advertised as another Ethan Carter III vs. Matt Hardy TNA title match. Early in the show, Jeff Hardy was added to make it a triple threat. The match featured numerous run-ins from the likes of Eric Young, Bram, Tyrus, Rockstar Spud and Mike Bennett. In the end, champion Matt was alone in the ring so he decided to just leave. Drew Galloway had other ideas though. He cashed in his Feast or Fired Briefcase on Matt Hardy and defeated him to successfully become the TNA Champion.
Congratulations to Drew Galloway who just made history on @PopTV https://t.co/pJtotGOFpx

Despite being champion in numerous independent promotions such as Evolve, this is Galloway's first major title in a televised wrestling promotion.
Drew was first introduced to fans in the WWE back in 2009 as "The Chosen One" and was immediately placed in the Intercontinental title picture. However, as time progressed, he found himself heading in the wrong direction on the card. At the end of his time in WWE he was part of the jobber faction 3MB before he was released. The Scot joined TNA after a successful independent run in multiple promotions (he still wrestles in Evolve) where he continued to prove he has main event potential.
This title change opens up numerous potential fresh championship feuds for Galloway, such as with recently turned heel Bobby Lashley, Galloway's most recent antagonist Mike Bennett, the man he defeated for the title Matt Hardy, and TNA's other young star EC3.
Congratulations to Drew Galloway on his much deserved title win.
