With the company unable to book Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, TNA hit the road, ending up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to run an almost live episode of Impact this past Thursday night followed by a taping that night (spoilers here) and another the next evening.
Now let's reveal the results of last night's taping.
July 3
- Kurt Angle, now Director of Wrestling Operations, came out for a promo. Samoa Joe was out to demand a title match against Bobby Lashley, though he didn't get it. Instead, Angle told him he wanted the Joe of days gone by. Meanwhile, Lashley was booked for a rematch against Eric Young. Earl Hebner was reinstated after MVP fired him.
- The Wolves def. Knux & Crazzy Steve because The BroMans can't work The Wolves forever.
- Bobby Roode def. Kenny King in the first level of his run through THE UNSTOPPABLE ALLIANCE.
- Madison Rayne finally made nice with Brittany but it was too late and Brittany attacked her. This is taken as a heel turn but considering the booking, Brittany is completely justified in this attack. Not that it matters.
- EC3 def. Bully Ray in a Tables match. The finish was Rhino making his return, teasing aligning himself with Bully, then hitting the Gore.
- Gunner showed up with Sam Shaw and said Shaw is a changed man. Ken Anderson and Christy Hemme showed up and Shaw apologized to them.
- Gail Kim def. Angelina Love to win the Knockout's championship.
- Bobby Lashley def. Eric Young to retain the heavyweight championship. So it looks like Young's big push up the card is done.
July 10
- Angle opened with a promo announcing a battle royal with the winner earning number one contender status to Lashley's title. He also called out Willow and wanted him to bring back Jeff Hardy.
- The Wolves def. Magnus & Bram, effectively going over the last of the tag teams the company has to offer.
- Austin Aries def. Sanada to win the X Division championship. Something something Option C something something?
- Roode was out for a promo and called out MVP. King showed up instead and they brawled. Young ran in to help Roode before Lashley ran down and THE UNSTOPPABLE ALLIANCE took control and stood tall.
- Bully Ray was out for a promo and called out Rhino. They brawled, of course, until Tommy Dreamer made the save.
- Gail Kim def. Angelina Love, Madison Rayne, and Brittany to retain the Knockout's championship.
- Jeff Hardy won the battle royal to become number one contender to the TNA title. It's announced he'll challenge for the title at the New York City tapings.
Those are the shows, folks. Your thoughts?
