This afternoon, TNA tried to get fans fired up for their Slammiversary pay-per-view (PPV), kicking off at 8PM tonight, June 15, 2014 from Arlington, Texas, by teasing the opening match on their Twitter.
Promising to reveal the first match of the card if the message was re-Tweeted 500 times, the company may have gotten a preview of how little interest their is in the show - the first second of three four nationally televised pro wrestling PPVs this month (WWE's Payback on June 1st, Ring of Honor's Best in the World on June 22 and WWE's Money in the Bank on June 29th), the day after a UFC show and going against the NBA Finals.
PWInsider tracked it up to 248 re-Tweets when it was pulled, presumably with a good deal of shame and embarrassment:
#Slammiversary starts at 8/7c on PPV! Want to know the first match of the night? 500 RTs and we'll tell you! GO!

Bad sign for the Slammiversary buy rate, or just a slow day on Twitter?
