Last Thursday, we reported that TNA's creative head Eric Bischoff was missing from their Impact television taping and was believed to be done with the company.
Earlier today, Dave Meltzer confirmed the story on his subscriber only radio show and gave further details.
Bischoff has been turfed out of power by Dixie Carter, was sent home before the Bound For Glory pay-per-view and will be paid to sit at home until his contract expires early next year.
Meltzer noted that a lot of people are very happy that he's gone, which would be due to his brash and arrogant nature that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and the baggage he carried with him from his WCW days.
As Meltzer discussed, Bischoff was badly exposed by his run in TNA as a big talker that was in the right place at the right time and surrounded himself with the right people in WCW until success went to his head.
Really, all he brought to the table in the past three years was his ability to schmooze the execs at Spike TV and do the grunt work that Hulk Hogan didn't want to do. With Hogan gone, Bischoff was completely expendable and with the company continuing to be in cost cutting mode his departure thus shouldn't be seen as surprising.
