The story of Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode, the main event of the Final Resolution pay-per-view (PPV) taking place later tonight (Sun., Dec. 9, 2012) at the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida, is quite simple.
Hardy, a notoriously troubled soul, overcame his demons and completed his comeback run by winning the Bound for Glory Series and capturing the heavyweight championship at the PPV of the same name, the biggest of the year. It was the perfect feel good story and now Hardy, the largest drawing card the company has, is in the midst of his run as a babyface champion the fans have gotten behind.
Roode, on the other hand, is the conniving heel who used to hold the title Hardy is currently toting around. And he wants it back. He was the longest tenured heavyweight champion in company history, after all, and during that time, the belt came to define him.
He needs it, lest he slip back into irrelevancy like his former tag partner James Storm, who always seems to come up just short, always left wanting.
And so the stage is set for the final PPV event of the year.
Be sure to come back later tonight for complete results and the running live blog for the show.
